After spending over forty years in the field of education, next to Arı Primary School and Arı High School, an investment in higher education and research as well became inevitable. This endeavour was realized through the collaboration and genuine contribution of all the teaching and administrative staff as well as the thousands of young people who have attended these schools and also their parents. In fact, this was the source of the motivation that led to the establishment of Çankaya University, the last link in our educational project.

On 9 July 1997, Sıtkı Alp Education Foundation was ratified through the Turkish National Assembly decree number 4282 which was published in the Official News Paper number 23050, dated 15 July 1997. The official establishment of Çankaya University was finalised through the Higher Education Council decision number 16641, dated 27 August 1997, and the university commenced its functions in the autumn of the same year.

In an age of competition when civilisation and technology have reached their zenith, borders between nations have diminished and now are almost invisible. Each nation is trying to be a centre of excellence. Education, reliable and efficient education, is undoubtedly the basis for such excellence. With this goal in mind, a community of educators trained at academic institutions of high reputation all over the world have been set up. This goal is to train, the students of Çankaya University in the best way possible through well-developed curricula in various fields. This academic institution w ill also provide its graduates with a solidly founded future, where employment opportunities at large will be open. As the founders of the University, it is our sincere hope and desire to interact with all academic and administrative members as well as with the students as members of the same family, that is, Çankaya University. Profile of the Programme:

The associate degree program in Foreign Trade covers four semesters and a total of two years. The entire program consists of three parts. The first is the compulsory (must) courses of the university (common courses). Students in all programs must take these courses.

The second part of the program is the must courses of Vocational School. The purpose of these Foreign Trade program must courses is to familiarize the students with the basics of foreign trade infrastructure. The main purpose of our foreign trade program is to provide students with the main framework of international trade, economics, finance, marketing, accounting, law and other dimensions of trade to ensure wide analytical framework. This education program provides required knowledge and skills for students to develop themselves in key areas of foreign trade. The contents of this program take into account the importance of cultural interaction in the trade relations that would help students to adapt to a foreign culture medium.

The third part of the program consists of elective courses. These elective courses, mostly composed of field courses, are given in the second year. In addition to these, there are also social elective courses that students can take from the Common Courses Department.

Assessment and Grading:

These matters are carried out in accordance with Çankaya University Bachelor's and Associate Degrees Regulations.

Mode of Study:

Face to face learning and discussion in classroom.

Recognition of Prior Learning:

Courses taken in other associate programs may be recognized based on the evaluation of Çankaya Vocational School in accordance with relevance and the approval of the Vocational School Board. All courses taken in other associate programs must be appropriately documented.

Access to Further Studies:

Graduates of our Vocational School can apply to the Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS) to complete a four-year undergraduate program at the faculty programs.

Students who are Turkish citizens are placed by the Measurement, Selection, and Placement Center based on the National Student Selection and Placement System. International students are admitted in accordance with the rules of the University.

Our graduates can be employed in public sectors as well as in private sectors. They are highly trained foreign trade experts which international companies, foreign exchange and foreign trade departments of banks and other financial institutions demand.
