İlerleme Yolları (İlişki Türü) | Mezunlarımız elçiliklerde, kültür merkezlerinde, yurt dışı ile iş yapan şirketlerin uluslararası ilişkiler birimlerinde, medya ve turizm sektöründe çalışabilmekte, dil ve kültür danışmanlığı ve çevirmenlik yapabilmektedir. Dileyen öğrencilerimiz bölümümüzde okudukları süre içerisinde, üniversitelerin Eğitim Fakültelerinin sunduğu derslere devam ederek İngilizce Öğretmenlik Sertifikası sahibi olabilir ve üniversitelerin Hazırlık Bölümlerinde okutmanlık, ilköğretim kurumları, liseler ve dershanelerde İngilizce öğretmenliği yapabilirler. | |

Bu program İngilizce olarak sunulmaktadır. Yurtiçi ve yurtdışındaki farklı sektörlerde (iletişim, medya, turizm, büyükelçilikler, kültür merkezleri, şirketlerin uluslararası ilişkiler birimleri, dil ve kültür danışmanlığı, çevirmenlik vb.) çalışan bireyler yetiştirmeyi amaçlamaktadır.
- Amerikan Kültürü ve Edebiyatı alanına ait güncel ders materyalleri ile desteklenmiş ileri düzeyde kuramsal ve uygulamalı bilgilere sahiptir.
- Amerikan Kültürü ve Edebiyatı alanındaki çalışmalarda kullanılan araştırma yöntem ve tekniklerini bilir.
- Amerikan Kültürü ve Edebiyatı alanında edindiği ileri düzeydeki kuramsal ve uygulamalı bilgileri kullanır.
- İngilizce dilini üst düzeyde bilir ve kullanır; dil, kültür ve edebiyat analizleri yapar.
- Genelde Batı, özelde ise Anglo-Sakson ve Amerikan kültürünü iyi tanır ve bu bilgi ve donanımların ışığında yaratıcı ve dinamik bir şekilde düşünür, soru sorar, yorum yapar.
- Amerikan Kültürü ve Edebiyatı alanında karşılaşılan ve öngörülemeyen karmaşık sorunları çözmek için bireysel olarak bağımsız çalışır.
- Amerikan Kültürü ve Edebiyatı alanında edindiği bilgi ve becerileri eleştirel bir yaklaşımla değerlendirir.
- Amerikan Kültürü ve Edebiyatı alanının gerektirdiği bilgisayar yazılımı ile birlikte bilişim ve bilgi teknolojilerini kullanır.
- Amerikan Kültürü ve Edebiyatı alanında disiplinlerarası araştırma ve inceleme yapar.
Mezunlarımız elçiliklerde, kültür merkezlerinde, yurt dışı ile iş yapan şirketlerin uluslararası ilişkiler birimlerinde, medya ve turizm sektöründe çalışabilmekte, dil ve kültür danışmanlığı ve çevirmenlik yapabilmektedir. Dileyen öğrencilerimiz bölümümüzde okudukları süre içerisinde, üniversitelerin Eğitim Fakültelerinin sunduğu derslere devam ederek İngilizce Öğretmenlik Sertifikası sahibi olabilir ve üniversitelerin Hazırlık Bölümlerinde okutmanlık, ilköğretim kurumları, liseler ve dershanelerde İngilizce öğretmenliği yapabilirler.

Assessment methods may include classical test(s), multiple-choice test(s), homework(s), performance evaluation(s), and product evaluation(s). In line with the credit system, the percentage of the in-term and final evaluations (exams, assignments, practice, and the like) should be declared by the course instructor to the head of the relevant department within the first two weeks of the semester and announced by the relevant unit. Conditions for Success | A student is required to successfully complete the designated program of courses and meet the requirement of a minimum of 240 ECTS credits. The student must have a minimum GPA of 2.00/4.00 and no F1 or F2 grades. At least 6 of the 10 electives a student is required to take must have an AMER course code. In addition to these, the student must take the compulsory Orientation course, the Computer Literacy course and one compulsory elective course offered by the Faculty of Fine Arts, Design and Architecture. | |
Progression Paths (Relationship Type) | Graduates of the Department of American Culture and Literature can be employed in a wide variety of sectors requiring competence in English and in cultural and literary matters. Our graduates are widely employed in embassies, cultural institutes, foreign relations offices of companies involved in international business and in the media and tourism sector as advisors in language and culture or as translators. During their undergraduate education students may attend a program offered by the Faculties of Education of a variety of universities to receive a certificate for Teaching English as a Foreign Language. In this way, they become entitled to teach English at institutions of primary, secondary and higher education in Turkey. Those graduates wishing to pursue an academic career can be employed as research assistants in a variety of universities as they continue their studies to obtain higher degrees. | |
