The aims of the program are as follows;

To review the current structure of the department by taking into account national and international targets, and develop it to include new approaches.

To comprehend the interdisciplinary interaction that Analytical Chemistry is related to.

To be able to use the theoretical and applied knowledge acquired in the field of Analytical Chemistry at an expert level.

To be able to create new knowledge by integrating the knowledge in the field of Analytical Chemistry with the knowledge from different disciplines such as physics and mathematics, and to solve problems that require expertise using scientific research methods.

To independently construct a problem in the field of Analytical Chemistry, develop a solution method, solve it, evaluate the results, and apply it when necessary.

To be able to develop new strategic approaches and produce solutions by taking responsibility in unforeseen complex situations encountered in applications in the field of Analytical Chemistry.

For thesis-based postgraduate programs, the information about the measurement and evaluation methods is taken as a basis as specified in the Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa Postgraduate Education Institute Education-Training Regulation, which was published in the Official Gazette dated 29.08.2018 and numbered 30520 and entered into force.

ARTICLE 6 (2) - Thesis-based postgraduate program consists of at least seven courses, one seminar course, and thesis study, with a total of not less than twenty-one credits. The seminar course and thesis study are non-credit and are evaluated as successful or unsuccessful. The thesis-based postgraduate program comprises at least eight classes, including the seminar course, totaling not less than 60 ECTS credits, and a thesis study, totaling at least 120 ECTS credits. The student must register for the thesis period each semester, starting from the term following the assignment of the advisor at the latest.

The quality assurance processes defined by the minimum criteria determined by YÖK and YÖKAK regarding the establishment and approval of higher education programs, the commencement of education and training in the programs, the continuation of education and training, the measurement and evaluation of program qualifications, and the certification of diplomas are taken as the basis. In this context;

● YÖK is responsible for the planning, organization, management, and supervision of education and training and other activities carried out in higher education institutions.

● The “University Monitoring and Evaluation Reports” of higher education institutions, prepared within the framework of criteria determined by YÖK, are published annually. The reports prepared according to these reports, which include quantitative and qualitative evaluations of higher education institutions, are shared with the public by YÖK.

● The “Foundation Higher Education Institutions Report,” containing academic, administrative, and financial data of foundation higher education institutions, is published by YÖK every year. These reports, which include quantitative and qualitative evaluations of foundation higher education institutions, are shared with the public by YÖK. The quality assurance of undergraduate programs in higher education is provided according to the “Procedures and Principles for the Quality Assurance of Higher Education Diploma Programs.”:

1. Creation and Approval of Curriculum:

1.1. YÖK determines the minimum standards and criteria required for the opening of undergraduate departments and programs in higher education institutions.

1.2. The curriculum of undergraduate programs in higher education institutions and the learning outcomes that each program will provide to students are determined by the senates of higher education institutions, following the fundamental principles defined by YÖK on these issues.

1.3. Higher education institutions implement the curriculum of the National Core Education Programs with the approval of YÖK after being approved by the relevant Deans Council.

2. Measurement-Evaluation: The measurement and evaluation of the learning outcomes that each undergraduate program will provide to students will be carried out by the education, training, and examination regulations prepared by higher education institutions, in line with the basic principles determined by YÖK on these issues.

3. Certification: Students enrolled in undergraduate programs receive a bachelor's degree if they complete the course credits and other obligations determined by higher education institutions. 4. Self-Assessment-External Evaluation: In the context of continuous monitoring, higher education institutions enter the "Internal Institutional Evaluation Reports" of the previous year into the Information System prepared by the Higher Education Quality Board (YÖKAK) at the beginning of each year. YÖKAK shares the "Institutional Feedback Report" prepared by YÖKAK regarding the external evaluation of higher education institutions with the public. In addition, accreditation decisions made by accreditation institutions authorized or recognized by YÖKAK also show that the quality assurance of the program qualifications is provided. YÖKAK conducts regular review activities regarding the qualifications determined by its legislation.

Information regarding the access requirements for thesis-based graduate programs is based on the Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa Graduate Education Institute Education - Training Regulation, which was published in the Official Gazette dated 29.08.2018 and numbered 30520 and entered into force, as specified in Articles 8(1-a and 1-b), 8(2), and 8(3).

ARTICLE 8 – (1) To be accepted to thesis-based master's programs from the general quota, candidates are expected to meet the following conditions:

a) Candidates must have a bachelor's degree.

b) Candidates must have an ALES score determined by the Senate for each application period, not less than 55 points in the score type for which they applied.

(2) (Amended sentence: RG-16/5/2023-32192) In determining the entrance score for thesis-based master's programs taught in Turkish, 50% of the ALES score, 15% of the undergraduate GPA, and 35% of the interview score are collected. (3) To be accepted to thesis-based master's programs, the entrance score must be at least 65.

Graduates can be employed in various important industrial sectors, including medicine, paint, food, and polymer. 

The works and procedures regarding the establishment, development and keeping up-to-date of the Turkish Qualifications Framework (TQF) are carried out within the scope of Article 23/A of the Law No. 5544 on Certain Regulations Regarding the Vocational Qualifications Authority and the Regulation on the Procedures and Principles Regarding the Implementation of the Turkish Qualifications Framework, which was published in the Official Gazette No. 29537 dated 19/11/2015 and entered into force. The legislation that forms the legal basis for the placement process is listed below.

- Article 23/A of the Law on Certain Regulations Regarding the Vocational Qualifications Authority

- Article 255 of the Presidential Decree

- Article 12 of the Regulation on the Procedures and Principles Regarding the Implementation of the Turkish Qualifications Framework

- Procedures and Principles to be Applied in the Process of Including Qualifications in the Turkish Qualifications Framework.

The qualification is valid at all times.
