The aim of the program is to train expert auxiliary health personnel who can work professionally in the health sector and have knowledge and skills in anesthesia practices. The program aims to equip students with the knowledge, skills and competence required by TYYÇ both theoretically and practically, and to enable them to effectively use anesthesia techniques and devices used in surgical procedures and other invasive procedures.

Theoretical Education:

• Basic and advanced anesthesia science topics are covered in classroom lessons.

• Courses are designed with an approach that supports interdisciplinary learning as specified in TYYÇ.

• Basic courses such as physiology, pharmacology, anesthesia devices and clinical anesthesia, basic anesthesia are covered.

Applied Education:

• Laboratory Studies: Students gain skills such as respiratory equipment, monitoring, vascular access and drug preparation in laboratory courses that support anesthesia practices.

• Clinical Practices: Experience is gained on real patients by doing internships in hospital operating rooms and intensive care units.

• Simulation Trainings: Case-based practices are carried out in a simulated environment to prepare for real cases.

Digital Platforms:

• Students' independent learning skills are supported with online learning tools. (LMS)

Internship:

• Compulsory internship programs are carried out in line with the competence of practical knowledge and skills acquisition in TYYÇ.

• Professionally evaluates and applies the information acquired from basic theoretical and practical courses supported by lecture notes, application tools and visual and objective resources, including applications in the field of anesthesia.
• Performs all steps of general anesthesia application, recognizes and intervenes in possible complications.
• Monitored patient care, sedo/analgesia applications, standard equipment in non-operating room anesthesia applications are included in patient preparation and follow-up.
• Knows that the patient's vital functions are monitored with anesthesia forms and records are taken during anesthesia applications and keeps regular records.
• As an individual working in the field of anesthesia, acts in accordance with the laws, regulations and legislations related to his/her duties, rights and responsibilities, complies with the responsibility of teamwork and ethical values.
• Performs patient evaluation, preparation and follow-up of materials and drugs before anesthesia application.
• Uses medical terminology in the field of profession correctly.
• Performs safe anesthetic and analgesic applications in patient's concomitant diseases and certain types of surgery. Performs control, protection, maintenance, preparation for use and use of devices and equipment used in anesthesia and analgesia applications.
• Demonstrates awareness, approach and application skills in cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
• Ensures patient safety in the recovery room from the evaluation of all vital functions of the patient to transfer to intensive care or the patient room.
• Understands basic information in the fields of human anatomy and physiology, basic pathology and relates the information acquired to his/her profession.
• Understands Turkish and foreign language skills, analyzes and interprets professional developments at national and international levels.
• Ability to act in accordance with relevant ethical and basic legal responsibilities in the professional field.
• Participates in necessary programs, professional in-service training activities and other studies to improve himself/herself personally and professionally by updating his/her knowledge, skills and competencies related to his/her field with the awareness of lifelong learning.

Evaluation of Success:

a) The status of students' education is monitored through the University Student Information System (OBS).

b) Success in a course is determined by the course grade. The course success grade is obtained by evaluating the success in the exams, practice, homework, project, project, attendance, laboratory and similar in-semester studies and the final exam together.

c) The success grade of a course is obtained by taking the percentage of the final exam grade, provided that the grade obtained as a result of in-semester exams and measurement systems is not less than 40% and not more than 60%.

d) The instructor of the course is obliged to announce to the students at the beginning of the semester; the content of the course, all kinds of measurement types that will be the basis for calculating the success grade.

e) Students are required to retake the failed compulsory or elective courses. However, if these courses are removed from the program, the relevant department/program determines which course to take.

f) The student must take the failed course with priority.

g) In the semester in which the student repeats the failed course, the attendance requirement for that course is not required.

Success grade:

Grades and coefficients are evaluated as indicated below.

a) Grades are given out of 100.

b) Courses with letter grades of AA, BA, BB, CB, CC are considered successful.

c) Courses with DD and DC letter grades are considered successful if the GPA is 2.00 and above (conditional pass) in Associate Degree programs.

d) Courses with a letter grade of FF are considered unsuccessful in all programs.

e) B and K grades are not included in grade point average calculations.

Grade Point Average:

The grade determined by dividing the sum of the coefficient of the success grade of the courses taken in a semester by the sum of the separate products of the ECTS values of those courses by the sum of the ECTS values of those courses is called Semester Weighted Grade Point Average (WGPA). The division is calculated by taking two digits after the comma and rounding to the upper value. The grade calculated by applying it to all courses taken is called the General Weighted Average (GANO).

To ensure the quality of higher education programs:

• The Council of Higher Education (YÖK) is responsible for planning, organizing, managing, and supervising education, teaching, and other activities in higher education institutions.
• "University Monitoring and Evaluation Reports" prepared within the framework of criteria determined by YÖK for higher education institutions are published annually. These reports, containing quantitative and qualitative evaluations of higher education institutions, are shared with the public by YÖK.
• The "Foundation Higher Education Institutions Report," containing academic, administrative, and financial data for foundation higher education institutions, is published annually by YÖK. These reports, which include quantitative and qualitative evaluations of foundation higher education institutions, are shared with the public by YÖK. Quality assurance for undergraduate programs in higher education is ensured according to the "Principles and Procedures for Ensuring the Quality of Higher Education Diploma Programs":

1. Establishment and Approval of Educational Programs: YÖK determines the minimum standards and criteria required for the opening of undergraduate departments and programs in higher education institutions.

1.1. The curriculum of undergraduate programs in higher education institutions and the learning outcomes of each program are determined by the senates of higher education institutions in accordance with the basic principles determined by YÖK in these matters.

1.2. After the approval of the National Core Education Programs by the relevant Council of Deans, they are implemented by higher education institutions with the approval of YÖK.

2. Measurement and Evaluation: The measurement and evaluation of the learning outcomes that each vocational program will provide to students are conducted according to the teaching and examination regulations prepared by higher education institutions in accordance with the basic principles determined by YÖK in these matters.

3. Certification: Students enrolled in vocational programs receive a bachelor's degree upon successful completion of the course credits and other obligations determined by higher education institutions.

4. Self-Assessment - External Assessment: Higher education institutions enter the "Institutional Self-Assessment Reports" prepared by the Higher Education Quality Board (YÖKAK) for the previous year into the Information System at the beginning of each year. YÖKAK shares the "Institutional Feedback Report" prepared for the external evaluation of higher education institutions with the public. In addition, accreditation decisions given by accreditation bodies authorized or recognized by YÖKAK also indicate that the quality assurance of programs has been ensured. YÖKAK conducts regular review activities regarding the qualifications determined by legislation.

Students are accepted by the Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM) according to the TYT score type results and the Central Placement Results by ÖSYM.

Students who graduate from this program can apply to undergraduate education programs. They can continue their education by transferring to the following undergraduate programs of universities with the Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS) conducted by ÖSYM:

• Nursing and Health Services

• Health Management

Graduates who continue their undergraduate education with DGS can have more advanced career opportunities in the health sector, develop themselves academically and find the opportunity to specialize in management or clinical areas.
