To provide knowledge, skills, attitudes and behaviors in accordance with the relevant legislation in the curriculum approved by the Ministry of National Education;

To know the methods by which they will be provided;

To make the society love sports education activities and create awareness;

To increase social sharing and support by developing human relations;

To provide a sense of sports ethics, to direct talented children and youth in schools to sports, to raise the country's sports to contemporary and advanced levels, to raise individuals who create scientific support and resources and reach children and youth in need of special education.

Education and training are provided in the form of formal, open or distance education. In addition, practical training is provided in laboratories and workshops within higher education institutions or as internships or workplace training in industry, health institutions and workplaces.

• Knows the concepts related to physical education and sports and explains the relationships between the concepts.
• Has knowledge about physical education and sports related disciplines (sports psychology, sports nutrition, first aid, sports history, exercise physiology, etc.).
• Follows textbooks and researches containing current information in physical education and sports, searches for information about new application tools and equipment.
• Has knowledge about physical education sports related teaching programs, teaching, methods, techniques and strategies, as well as measurement and evaluation.
• Has knowledge about the source, accuracy, reliability and validity of physical education sports information.
• Can comment on important people, institutions and events in the field of physical education and sports. Has knowledge about the psychic and physiological processes required for the acquisition of physical education and sports skills.
• Has knowledge about the development, learning and motivation characteristics and difficulties of the people they work in the field they will work in.
• Has knowledge about the aesthetic dance and rhythm aspects of sports.
• Has knowledge about physical activity and exercise methods and applications that improve community health.
• Uses new application tools and equipment in physical education and sports and develops materials according to needs.
• Prepares plans, programs and projects suitable for children's development in physical education and sports.
• Uses and develops teaching, techniques, tactics and strategies according to individual differences in physical education and sports.
• Evaluates, analyzes and discusses physical education and sports knowledge and skills with scientific methods.
• Makes explanations to expert or non-expert audience groups about physical education and sports or social issues, informs them and conveys thoughts, problems and solutions to them in a clear written and oral way.
• Collaborates with relevant institutions and organizations in physical education and sports.
• Develops effective relationships in physical education and sports.
• Conducts advanced level work in the field individually or in groups.
• To have at least one foreign language knowledge at a level that allows one to follow and use information related to physical education and sports and to communicate with colleagues.
• Can use communication technologies with computer software and hardware knowledge as required in physical education and sports.

Each semester, students are given at least one mid-term examination and a final exam. Apart from examinations, quizzes can be given without announcing a specific date. For each course taken at Ankara University, the student is given one of the letter grades below by the instructor as the semester course grade.

The lowest grade to be successful in a course is (C3) 2,00. The grades lover than 2,00 (F1 and F2) are unsuccessful.

In order to be successful in a program, grade point average must be at least (C3) 2.00 and all courses must be completed successfully.

In order to monitor the quality of higher education programs;

• YÖK is responsible for planning, organizing, managing and supervising education and training and other activities in higher education institutions.

• “University Monitoring and Evaluation Reports” of higher education institutions prepared within the framework of criteria determined by YÖK are published every year. Reports prepared according to these reports, which include quantitative and qualitative evaluations of higher education institutions, are shared with the public by YÖK.

• “Foundation Higher Education Institutions Report”, which includes academic, administrative and financial data of foundation higher education institutions, is published every year by YÖK. These reports, which include quantitative and qualitative evaluations of foundation higher education institutions, are shared with the public by YÖK.

The quality assurance of undergraduate programs in higher education is provided according to the “Procedures and Principles for the Quality Assurance of Higher Education Diploma Programs”:

1. Creation and Approval of Curriculum: The Council of Higher Education determines the minimum standards and criteria required for the opening of associate degree departments and programs in higher education institutions.

1.1. The curriculum of associate degree programs in higher education institutions and the learning outcomes that each program will provide to students are determined by the senates of higher education institutions in accordance with the basic principles determined by the Council of Higher Education on these issues.

1.2. The curriculum of the National Core Education Programs is implemented by higher education institutions with the approval of the Council of Higher Education after being approved by the relevant Deans Council.

2. Measurement-Evaluation: The measurement and evaluation of the learning outcomes that each associate degree program will provide to students is carried out in accordance with the teaching and examination regulations prepared by higher education institutions in accordance with the basic principles determined by the Council of Higher Education on these issues.

3. Certification: Students enrolled in associate degree programs receive an associate degree diploma if they successfully complete the course credits and other obligations determined by higher education institutions. 4. Self-Assessment-External Evaluation: In the context of continuous monitoring, higher education institutions enter the “Internal Institutional Evaluation Reports” of the previous year into the Information System prepared by the Higher Education Quality Board (YÖKAK) at the beginning of each year. YÖKAK shares the “Institutional Feedback Report” prepared by the external evaluation of higher education institutions with the public. In addition, accreditation decisions made by accreditation institutions authorized or recognized by YÖKAK also show that the quality assurance of the program qualifications is provided. YÖKAK conducts regular review activities regarding the qualifications determined in accordance with the legislation.

• The Physical Education and Sports Teaching program accepts students with a special talent exam. Students who graduated from high school or an equivalent school can apply within the conditions specified in the student selection exam guide after the ÖSYS results are announced. After the exam date is announced by ÖSYM, the candidate takes the special talent exam (ÖZYES) and then makes a preference and is placed in the department. The condition for the candidate to enter the department is to have a first 800 thousand grade. Otherwise, they cannot apply to the Physical Education and Sports Teaching department.

Graduates of the Department of Physical Education and Sports Teaching can work as physical education teachers in schools affiliated with the Ministry of National Education, as coaches or sports experts in the Education Department and other units of the General Directorate of Youth and Sports, and as lecturers or research assistants in the Physical Education and Sports Programs of universities, by obtaining a coaching certificate from the relevant federations.
