The main purpose of the Department of Physical Education and Sports Teaching is to train teachers for the second grade of primary education and for High Schools.

Learning takes place in the form of formal, open or distance education. Moreover; Practical training is provided in laboratories and workshops within higher education institutions or as internships or workplace training in industry, health institutions and workplaces.

• Evaluates the foundations and concepts, keys and issues of the education system and physical education and sport.
• Synthesizes basic knowledge, skills, rules, techniques, tactics and strategies about one or more individual and team sports at the basic education level.
• In line with the information it has received within the program, it evaluates the competencies of all curricula between pre-school and high school levels, the content of these competencies, teaching processes, models, methods and techniques.
• Performs physiological analysis of organ and system functions that provide movement and activity.
• Makes basic first aid practice about health problems and sports injuries that may be encountered in the field.
• Analyzes current and scientific information about physical education and sports and teaching profession in accordance with ethical values.
• Physical education and sports teaching evaluates theory, events and facts using scientific and technological methods and forward-looking resources.
• Makes training planning, programming and periodization for individual and team sports.
• It supports the development and dissemination of sports culture within the framework of Olympic values.
• It organizes sports activities within the scope of the management and organization of national holidays, ceremonies and special days.
• Using the talent screening criteria, it reveals the skills suitable for different sports branches.
• In the process of continuous improvement of the society and the school, it sets an example to the society with its sense of responsibility and leadership.
• Understands the necessity of lifelong learning.
• Applies teaching methods for students who need special education in physical education and sports teaching.
• Uses Turkish effectively both orally and in writing.
• Knows at least one foreign language enough to follow the developments in the field and communicate with colleagues from different nationalities.
• Uses information and communication technologies together with computer software at the level required by the field.
• It takes individual differences into consideration in line with the physical, mental, social and sportive developments of the students.

(1) Students are given a success letter grade for each course at the end of the semester / year they are registered.
(2) This success letter grade is appreciated by the lecturer who teaches the course.
(3) In the assessment of the letter grade of success, the student's success in midterm exams, semester / year-end exams, mid-term studies, and attendance to classes and practices are taken into consideration. The calculation of this letter grade is determined by the recommendation of the relevant academic unit board, the decision of the relevant board of the academic unit and the approval of the Senate.
(4) The student's success grade is determined over 100 full points. This score is called the raw success score.
(5) A student whose raw success score is below 25.00 fails from that course by getting a direct (FF) grade. The success grade of the student whose raw success score is 25.00 and above; The general condition of the class is evaluated with one of the letter grades whose coefficients and expansions are stated below, using one of the methods prepared by the decision of the University Education Commission and the approval of the Senate, taking into account the arithmetic averages and statistical distribution. After this evaluation, it is possible that the raw achievement scores of 25.00 and above have letter grade equivalents (FF).

(7) A student who takes one of the grades (AA), (BA), (BB), (CB), (CC), (DC) and (DD) from a course is considered successful. However, in order to graduate, the student's AGNO must be at least 2.00.

In order to monitor the quality of higher education programs;

• YOK is responsible for the planning, organization, management and supervision of education, training and other activities carried out in higher education institutions.
• "University Monitoring and Evaluation Reports" of higher education institutions, prepared every year within the framework of the criteria determined by YOK, are published. Reports prepared according to these reports, containing quantitative and qualitative evaluations for higher education institutions, are shared with the public by YÖK.
• Every year, YOK publishes the "Foundation Higher Education Institutions Report", which includes academic, administrative and financial data of foundation higher education institutions. These reports, which include quantitative and qualitative evaluations of foundation higher education institutions, are shared with the public by YOK. Quality assurance of undergraduate programs in higher education is provided according to the "Procedures and Principles for Providing Quality Assurance of Higher Education Diploma Programs":

1. Creation and Approval of Curriculum:

1.1. YOK determines the minimum standards and criteria required for the opening of undergraduate departments and programs in higher education institutions.

1.2. The curriculum of undergraduate programs in higher education institutions and the learning outcomes that each program will bring to the student are determined by the senates of higher education institutions in accordance with the basic principles determined by YOK on these issues.

1.3. The curriculum of National Core Education Programs is implemented by higher education institutions with the approval of YOK after being accepted by the relevant Deans Council.

2. Measurement-Evaluation: How to measure and evaluate the learning outcomes that each undergraduate program will provide to the student is carried out in accordance with the education, training and examination regulations prepared by higher education institutions in accordance with the basic principles determined by YOK on these issues.

3. Certification: Students enrolled in undergraduate programs, if they successfully complete the course credits and other obligations determined by higher education institutions; receives a bachelor's degree.

4. Self-Evaluation-External Evaluation: In the context of continuous monitoring, higher education institutions enter the "Institution Internal Evaluation Reports" of the previous year into the Information System prepared by the Higher Education Quality Board (YOKAK) at the beginning of each year. The "Institutional Feedback Report" prepared by YOKAK regarding the external evaluation of higher education institutions is shared with the public. In addition, accreditation decisions made by accreditation bodies authorized or recognized by YOKAK also show that the quality assurance of the qualifications of the programs is ensured. It carries out regular review activities regarding the qualifications determined in accordance with the YOKAK legislation.
