It is a higher education program that covers an eight-semester program based on secondary education qualifications and provides education for a specific learning area or profession. The educational objectives of the program are as follows.

• To have the ability to apply, interpret, problem-solve and decide the basic knowledge required in their professional lives in line with ethical principles,
• Ensuring adequate, balanced and healthy nutrition of the individual and society, in accordance with the qualifications determined within the framework of international professional standards in order to improve the quality of life,
• Have the ability to work multidisciplinary and adopt teamwork,
• To train “Dietitians” who follow and apply the developments in the science of Nutrition and Dietetics within the framework of lifelong learning awareness.

Education and training are carried out in the form of formal, open or distance education. Practical training are provided in laboratories in our institution or in healthcare institutions.

• It takes responsibility for the formation of nutrition policies in order to prevent diseases with the professional skills that it has acquired for the health of the individual and the society at every stage of life.
• Gains theoretical and practical information about the basic, field-specific and social courses required by the dietitian profession in the field of Nutrition and Dietetics.
• Recognizes the problems encountered in the field of Nutrition and Dietetics and uses appropriate technology and evidence-based knowledge for their solution.
• Gaining the skills of designing experiments, researches, projects and field studies with appropriate methods in the field of Nutrition and Dietetics, collects data, analyzes and reports the results.
• Can use effective information technologies in accordance with the principle of lifelong learning and in accordance with quality management processes, methods of accessing up-to-date scientific data sources/tools suitable for their purpose in the field.
• He/she works with other disciplines in his/her field by using effective communication skills in national and international (B1 level English) platforms as part of individual and/or teamwork.
• Serves as a process manager in food services in mass nutrition systems.
• Develops nutritional recommendations by providing nutrition education, nutritional counseling and medical nutrition therapy to sick or healthy groups.
• Be aware of the individual, social and universal effects and legal consequences of Nutrition and Dietetics practices and act in accordance with professional ethical principles. He knows the responsibilities required by his profession and sets an example to his colleagues and environment in this direction.

(1) The grade point represents the 4-point scale equivalent of the raw grade point average calculated by taking into account the midterm and final exam scores of the students according to the prescribed weights. Relative or absolute evaluation system is used in the calculation of students' grade points. Whether the relative or absolute evaluation system will be used in the units is determined by the proposal of the unit council and the approval of the Senate.

(2) The principles of measurement and evaluation for relative and absolute evaluation systems, the conditions and limits for participation in the grade point calculation in the relative evaluation system, and the principles regarding the success levels are determined by the Senate.

(3) In both evaluation systems, students who do not take the final exam or makeup exam for a course and who cannot score at least 50 points out of 100 in this exam are considered unsuccessful. This limit may be changed by the proposal of the relevant unit council and the Senate decision. In units where makeup exams are not held and where midterm evaluations are weighted, there is no minimum grade requirement for passing the course from the final exam.

(4) The courses for which the student receives KM and G grades are not taken into account in the calculation of the CGPA.

To oversee the quality of higher education programs;

- YÖK is responsible for planning, organizing, managing and supervising education and training and other activities in higher education institutions.

- "University Monitoring and Evaluation Reports" of higher education institutions prepared within the framework of the criteria determined by YÖK are published every year. The reports prepared according to these reports, including quantitative and qualitative evaluations of higher education institutions, are shared with the public by YÖK.

- "Foundation Higher Education Institutions Report" containing academic, administrative and financial data of foundation higher education institutions is published annually by CoHE. These reports, which include quantitative and qualitative evaluations of foundation higher education institutions, are shared with the public by YÖK. Quality assurance of undergraduate programs in higher education is ensured according to the "Procedures and Principles for Ensuring Quality Assurance of Higher Education Diploma Programs":

1. Creation and Approval of Curricula: YÖK determines the minimum standards and criteria required for the opening of undergraduate departments and programs in higher education institutions.

1.1. The curriculum of undergraduate programs in higher education institutions and the learning outcomes that each program will provide to the student are determined by the senates of higher education institutions in accordance with the basic principles determined by YÖK on these issues.

1.2. The curricula of the National Core Curricula are adopted by the relevant Council of Deans and implemented by higher education institutions with the approval of the Council of Higher Education.

2. Assessment and Evaluation: The measurement and evaluation of the learning outcomes of each undergraduate program is carried out according to the teaching and examination regulations prepared by higher education institutions in accordance with the basic principles determined by YÖK on these issues.

3. Certification: Students enrolled in undergraduate programs, if they successfully complete the course credits and other obligations determined by higher education institutions; receive a bachelor's diploma.

4. Self-Assessment-External Evaluation: Higher education institutions, in the context of continuous monitoring, enter the "Institutional Internal Evaluation Reports" of the previous year into the Information System prepared by the Higher Education Quality Council (YÖKAK) at the beginning of each year. YÖKAK shares the "Institutional Feedback Report" prepared for the external evaluation of higher education institutions with the public. In addition, accreditation decisions issued by accreditation bodies authorized or recognized by YÖKAK also indicate that the quality assurance of the qualifications of the programs is ensured. YÖKAK conducts regular review activities regarding the qualifications determined in accordance with the legislation.

As a result of the evaluation made by the Health Sciences Education Programs Accreditation Board, our department's education program was entitled to receive accreditation from the Association of Evaluation and Accreditation of Health Sciences Programs (SABAK) for 2 years between 20.03.2024-30.09.2026.

General admission requirements for Turkish and foreign students apply to start the program.

In addition to being an academician, graduates serve as investigative, educational, treatment and rehabilitative in inpatient treatment institutions, child and elderly nursing homes, mother-child health community health special diet outpatient clinics. In addition, graduates can also work as managers, researchers and trainers in private or public institutions related to food and nutrition in other public nutrition institutions.
