The aim of this programme is to educate the dietitian with the knowledge of basic academical issues as well as necessary skills and talents for the profession. Besides, the students are educated for combining the theoretical knowledge with practical; being the right model for community as an individual and professional; with the ability of improving themselves and managing the time, of structuring effective communication; with the responsibility of obeying the scientific ethical rules; of being sensitive to human being, society and nature, and being aware of the importance of life-long learning. In our department has 7 Professor,  2 Associated Professor, 4 Assistant Professor and 2 doctoral research assistant.  Language of instruction is Turkish. The program includes compulsory theoric and practical courses related to the profession of dietetics. In addition, professional electives and elective courses are given to the students on this field again in the years of 2, 3 and 4 according to their preferences. In years of 3 and 4, the "Training" courses "Practice in Community Health Nutrition", "Clinical Child Nutrition Training", "Clinical Adult Nutrition Training", "Institutional Food System Training" and "Foreign Hospital and Institution Programme" are given under the main headings provided 5 Area depending on the application.

Education and training are carried out in the form of formal, open or distance education. Internships or practical training are provided in laboratories in our institution or in industry, healthcare institutions and workplaces.

(1) For each course taken, students are given a letter success grade at the end of the semester/year.

(2) This grade is given by the instructor of the course.

(3) While evaluating the letter grade,  the student's success in midterm exam, semester / year-end exam, mid-term studies and attendance to lessons and practices are taken into consideration. The calculation of the letter grade is determined by the approval of the related academic unit and the Senate.

(4) The success grade of a student is calculated over 100 points. This grade is called raw success point.

(5) A student whose raw success point is under 25.00 is directly given an FF grade and the student fails the course. The success grade of a student whose raw success point is 25.00 and above is evaluated by using the methods determined by the board decisions of the Educational Commission of the University and the Senate; with the letter grades of which coefficients and explanations are mentioned below. After this evaluation, it is also possible that the raw success points 25.00 and above may become FF letter grades.

1) D: Did not Attend the Course

3) E: Incomplete (The E grades which are not corrected until after 3 weeks from the finalization of letter success grades are converted to FF)

(7) A student whose letter success grade is (AA), (BA), (BB), (CB), (CC), (DC) or (DD) is considered as succeeded the course. However, the CumGPA (Cumulative Grade Point Average) of the student must be at least 2,00 for graduation.

To oversee the quality of higher education programs;

- YÖK is responsible for planning, organizing, managing and supervising education and training and other activities in higher education institutions.

- "University Monitoring and Evaluation Reports" of higher education institutions prepared within the framework of the criteria determined by YÖK are published every year. The reports prepared according to these reports, including quantitative and qualitative evaluations of higher education institutions, are shared with the public by YÖK.

- "Foundation Higher Education Institutions Report" containing academic, administrative and financial data of foundation higher education institutions is published annually by CoHE. These reports, which include quantitative and qualitative evaluations of foundation higher education institutions, are shared with the public by YÖK. Quality assurance of undergraduate programs in higher education is ensured according to the "Procedures and Principles for Ensuring Quality Assurance of Higher Education Diploma Programs":

1. Creation and Approval of Curricula: YÖK determines the minimum standards and criteria required for the opening of undergraduate departments and programs in higher education institutions.

1.1. The curriculum of undergraduate programs in higher education institutions and the learning outcomes that each program will provide to the student are determined by the senates of higher education institutions in accordance with the basic principles determined by YÖK on these issues.

1.2. The curricula of the National Core Curricula are adopted by the relevant Council of Deans and implemented by higher education institutions with the approval of the Council of Higher Education.

2. Assessment and Evaluation: The measurement and evaluation of the learning outcomes of each undergraduate program is carried out according to the teaching and examination regulations prepared by higher education institutions in accordance with the basic principles determined by YÖK on these issues.

3. Certification: Students enrolled in undergraduate programs, if they successfully complete the course credits and other obligations determined by higher education institutions; receive a bachelor's diploma.

4. Self-Assessment-External Evaluation: Higher education institutions, in the context of continuous monitoring, enter the "Institutional Internal Evaluation Reports" of the previous year into the Information System prepared by the Higher Education Quality Council (YÖKAK) at the beginning of each year. YÖKAK shares the "Institutional Feedback Report" prepared for the external evaluation of higher education institutions with the public. In addition, accreditation decisions issued by accreditation bodies authorized or recognized by YÖKAK also indicate that the quality assurance of the qualifications of the programs is ensured. YÖKAK conducts regular review activities regarding the qualifications determined in accordance with the legislation.

As a result of the evaluation made by the Health Sciences Education Programs Accreditation Board, our department's education program was entitled to receive accreditation from the Association of Evaluation and Accreditation of Health Sciences Programs (SABAK) for 5 years between 13.03.2020-30.09.2025.

General admission requirements for Turkish and foreign students apply to start the program.

Graduates can work as a clinical dietician or administrative dietician in hospitals, as an executive dietician or community health dietician in various public institutions and organizations, in the food industry, in individual diet consultancy and training centers and / or can be employed as academicians.
