• Ability of distinguishing the individual and organism groups in relation to systematical, taxonomical and biological characteristics.
• Ability of appropriate use of laboratories and their associated equipments as a part of research and observation activities through various branches of Biological sciences.
• Ability of understanding and interpretation of biological processes at cell, tissue, organ, system and organism levels.
• Ability to understand ecological relationships, cycles, living and non-living components of the ecosystems, and using the relevant knowledge for analysing the ecological problems.
• Ability to comprehend fundamentals of genetics and molecular biology and carry out basic methods in relevant applications.
• Ability to comprehend evolutionary biology within the framework of biological sciences.
• Ability to understand and practice basics of applied biological sciences (such as biotechnology), with acquired knowledge on problem solving approaches.
• Ability to understand and interprete basics of biological applications within medical, economical and forensic sciences.
• Ability to perceive biological existence at global and regional scale, together with comprehension of associated problems.
• Acquiring appropriate knowledge in the field of basic sciences as a support to perception, analysis and interpretation of biological facts, and ability of using and practicing relevant methods for this aim.

This program also provides training in secondary education.

Students are obliged to participate in courses, laboratory and other practices and examinations. At each semester, one midterm exam and one final exam are applied for every course. Course note is calculated as total of 40% of midterm exam and 60% of final exam. Students which get 60 points out of 100 are considered succesfull.

Students are required to be a graduate of high school or equivalent and to take the selection and placement test held annually by the Turkish Student Selection and Placement Center (OSYM).
