Programme Structure•Undergraduate programmes of Yeni Yuzyil University (with the exception of the school of medicine, the school of dentistry, the school of law) consist of 240 ECTS credits in total. •Each student needs to enroll in the common compulsory courses defined by Higher Education Council of Turkey (YÖK). These are Turkish Language I-II and Principles of Atatürk and History of Revolution I-II, and English I-II. •All elective courses except from those defined by Higher Education Council are determined by the related councils in line with the needs and features of departments and programmes.•Total ECTS of elective courses needs to constitute 20% of total ECTS offered in the related programme. EXAM REGUALATIONS, ASSESSMENT AND GRADINGThe number and dates of midterm exams are announced by the instructor to the students in the beginning of the academic year/semester. The instructors may hold quizzes, number or dates of which are announced in advance. No make-up exams will be organized for exams except midterm exams. Exams may be oral, written or both. Faculties or Vocational Schools may decide to assign assignments, projects or researches in their councils. The students who fail in the final exams and those who do not take the exam may take the resit exams for each of the courses they fail in the end of the semester. Midterm and final exams may be written, oral or both. Success criteria for the final exams are valid for the resit exams; and the grade of the resit exam is evaluated as the final exam grade. Grades: Instructors evaluate each student enrolled in their courses according to the grades of quizzes, midterm and final exams, resit exams and other. In line with these evaluations, the instrucctor gives the students a semester grade (AA, BA, BB, CB, CC, DC, DD, FF, DZ). Student admissions to this programme are conducted in the framework of the regulations set by the Higher Education Council of Turkey (YÖK). This requires the candidate students to take a centralized national university placement examination (ÖSYS) organized by an autonomous public body called Assessment, Selection and Placement Centre (ÖSYM).International students are accepted to the programme according to the score of one of the following international exams: SAT I, GCE, ACT, ABITUR, IB, TAWJIHI, BACCALAUREAT LIBANAIS, BACCALAUREAT FRANÇAIS, AL-SAHADA, AL TAHANAWIYYA, GAOKAO.Exchange student admissions are made according to the requirements specified in the bilateral agreements signed by Yeni Yuzyil University and the partner universities.Visiting student admissions are conducted according to Yeni Yuzyil University Regulations (on education and exams in first and short cycle programmes), and upon the confirmation of the related academic units (faculty and department). Visiting students are allowed to enroll in some of the courses offered by the programme.

Graduates from the Department of Biomedical Engineering have many job opportunities. They may work as engineering professionals in the public or private sector with manufacturing, research and development, quality, purchasing and marketing departments. On the other hand, graduates from this department, may apply to graduate programmes in related fields and may serve as research assistants at the universities.
