Program Profili (Amaç)

Biyomühendislik başta olmak üzere Moleküler Biyoloji, Genetik, Biyoteknoloji ve Nörobiyoloji alanlarında lisans düzeyinde mesleğinin temel kavramlarını bilen, uygulayan ve gerekirse üst derece programlarına geçiş yapabilecek mezunlar yetiştirmeyi amaçlamaktadır.

Bu program İngilizce olarak sunulmaktadır. Tam burslu eğitim sağlamaktadır.

1.Lise diploması 2. ÖSYM tarafından yeterli puanı alıp yerleştirilmiş olmak 3. Başka bir Yüksek öğrenim kurumunda kayıtlı olmamak YABANCI UYRUKLU DERECE ÖĞRENCİLERİ İÇİN Başvurulara ilişkin açıklamalar ve başvuru tarihleri ÜÜnin web sayfasında duyurulur. Başvurular belirlenen tarihler arasında ÜÜ Öğrenci İşleri Dairesi Başkanlığına posta yoluyla ya da kişisel olarak yapılır. Aday en fazla 3 bölüm için tercih yapabilir, başvuruda bir tercih formu doldurulur. Yerleştirmede ulusal ve uluslararası sınavları ve bu sınavlarda alınan asgari puanlar esas alınır. Lise bitirme sınavı statüsünde olan sınavların (Abitur, International Baccalaureate, GCE, Tawjihi vb.) sonuçlarının geçerliliği süresizdir. Ancak üniversite giriş sınavı statüsünde olan sınavların (SAT, TCS vb.) geçerlilik süreleri iki yıl ile sınırlıdır. Başvurular, ÜÜ Yabancı Uyruklu Öğrenci Kabul Komisyonu tarafından değerlendirilir. DEĞİŞİM ÖĞRENCİLERİ İÇİN Öğrenci, kendi üniversitesinde tam zamanlı öğrenci olmalıdır. Öğrencinin üniversitesi ile Üsküdar Üniversitesi arasında ikili anlaşma bulunmalıdır. Üniversite, öğrenciyi resmi yollarla ilgili değişim programına aday olarak göstermelidir. Öğrencinin kendi üniversitesi, başvuru evraklarını ÜÜ Dış İlişkiler Ofisine gönderir. Başvurular, ilgili bölüm ve Dış İlişkiler Ofisi tarafından değerlendirilir.

Başarma ŞartlarıBölüm öğretim planında belirtilen tüm dersleri (240 AKTS) 8 yarıyılda başarıyla tamamlayan; - 4.00 üzerinden en az 2.00 (Üsküdar Üniversitesi geçme notu: CC ) ağırlıklı not ortalamasını elde eden öğrencilere Biyomühendislik Bölümü lisans derecesi verilir. - Öğrencilerin derslere ve uygulamalara, laboratuar çalışmalarına ve sınavlara katılması zorunludur. Öğrencilerin katılımı ilgili öğretim üyesi veya elemanı tarafından takip edilir. - Teorik derslerin %70’i ve uygulamaların %80’ine katılan öğrenciler, final sınavına girmeye hak kazanırlar. - Herhangi bir sebeple yeterli katılımı göstermeyen öğrenciler sınava giremezler.

Biyomühendislik Bölümü mezunlarının, akademi, sanayi (ilaç, tarım, gıda, biyomedikal vb), klinik tıp ve tanı merkezleri, adli tıp, kamu kuruluşları ile uluslararası Araştırma Merkezleri ve laboratuvarlarında kolaylıkla iş bulmaları beklenmektedir. ayrıca çeşitli sağlık kuruluşlarında eczacılık, ziraat, biyomedikal, biyoteknoloji, adli tıp enstitüleri ve moleküler biyoloji-genetik ve mühendislik alanlarında çalışma imkanı bulabilirler.

Students have to take a midterm exam, a final exam and homeworks. Students grade is given by the responsible lecturer according to the points that he/she get from the midterm exam, final exam, studies during the term also attendance to the lesson. All the grades are given with two-letter scoring. (AA,BA,BB etc.) Lessons which midterm or final exams are not necessary are determined and announced to Student Affairs by the department. In this condition the grade is given according to the studies which are done during the term. Practical lessons and laboratory studies can be evaluated too. In this occasion every lesson, practice and/or laboratory study shoul be independently convenient to the regulation. Score Table and Score Distribution Guide Student who have a score one of AA, BA, BB, CB or CC is considered sucsessful. FF is considered as a failure. DC and DD might be accepted as conditional pass. One of the scores shown below is assigned for each course. Quality Assurance-
Access Requirements

Information about applications and application dates are announced in Uskudar Univeristys website. Applications are accepted during the application dates either personally or by mail. Candidate can fill one preference form and choose maximum 3 departments. Placement is based on the national and international exams and the points gained on them. The exams that are in the status of highschool graduation exams (Abitur, International Baccalaureate, GCE, Tawjihi etc.) have limitless validation, but the exams that are in status of university enterance exam are valid for 2 years. Applications are evaluated by Uskudar University Foreign Students Admission Commission. For Exchange Students Student must be a full-time student in his/her university. There must be a bilateral agreement between the students university and Üsküdar University. The student must be officially nominated by his/her university. The application documents are sent by the students university to Uskudar University International Office where the applications are assessed.

Progression Paths (Relationship Type)

Graduates of Bioengineering department can obtain jobs in academia, industry (pharmaceutical, agricultural, food, biomedical etc.), clinical and genetics medicine and diagnosis centers, forensic medicine, government agencies, international research centers and laboratories.Also they can be a manager in several health care organizations. Moreover they can find a job in units that are working on pharmacy, agriculture, biomedical, biotechnology, forensic medicine institution and in molcular biology, genetics and engineering fields.

Access Requirements

Information about applications and application dates are announced in Uskudar Univeristys website. Applications are accepted during the application dates either personally or by mail. Candidate can fill one preference form and choose maximum 3 departments. Placement is based on the national and international exams and the points gained on them. The exams that are in the status of highschool graduation exams (Abitur, International Baccalaureate, GCE, Tawjihi etc.) have limitless validation, but the exams that are in status of university enterance exam are valid for 2 years. Applications are evaluated by Uskudar University Foreign Students Admission Commission. For Exchange Students Student must be a full-time student in his/her university. There must be a bilateral agreement between the students university and Üsküdar University. The student must be officially nominated by his/her university. The application documents are sent by the students university to Uskudar University International Office where the applications are assessed.

Have sufficient awareness of the universality of social rights, social justice, acting and participating in accordance with the quality management and its processes (instead of quality culture) and protection of cultural values, environmental protection, occupational health and safety issues.Student who successfully acomplished all lessons (240 ECTS) in the curriculum at the end of the 8. midterm - Minimum 2.00 GPA out of 4.00 are given BSc degree in Molecular Biology and Genetics - Students have to attend theorethical, practical lessons and laboratory applications. - Students attendance is followed by the responsible lecturer. - Students who attend %70 of the theorethical lessons and %80 of the practical lessons can attend final exam. - Students who hasnt participated enough to the lessons are not allowed to take the exam.

Graduates of Bioengineering department can obtain jobs in academia, industry (pharmaceutical, agricultural, food, biomedical etc.), clinical and genetics medicine and diagnosis centers, forensic medicine, government agencies, international research centers and laboratories.Also they can be a manager in several health care organizations. Moreover they can find a job in units that are working on pharmacy, agriculture, biomedical, biotechnology, forensic medicine institution and in molcular biology, genetics and engineering fields.
