- Hemşirelik lisans yeterliklerine dayalı olarak, cerrahi hemşireliği alanında bilgilerini uzmanlık düzeyinde geliştirir, derinleştirir ve bilime yenilik getirecek özgün tanımlara ulaşır.
- Hemşirelik alanındaki çeşitli disiplinler arasındaki etkileşimi kavrar, yeni ve karmaşık fikirleri analiz, sentez ve değerlendirmede uzmanlık gerektiren bilgileri kullanarak özgün sonuçlara ulaşır.
- Hemşirelik alanıyla ilgili yeni bilgilere sistematik bir biçimde yaklaşır ve alanıyla ilgili araştırma yöntemlerinde üst düzeyde beceri kazanır.
- Bilime yenilik getiren, yeni bir bilimsel yöntem geliştirebilmek ya da bilinen bir yöntemi farklı bir alana uygulayabilir, özgün bir konuyu araştırabilir, tasarlayabilir ve uygulayabilir.
- Cerrahi Hastalıkları Hemşireliği alanı ile ilgili bir bilimsel makaleyi ulusal ve/veya uluslararası hakemli dergilerde yayınlayarak alanındaki bilginin sınırlarını genişletebilir.
- Özgün ve disiplinlerarası sorunların çözümlenmesini gerektiren ortamlarda liderlik yapabilir.
- Cerrahi hastalıkları hemşireliği alanındaki bir sorunu, bağımsız olarak kurgulayıp, çözüm yöntemi geliştirir.
