• To have sufficient basic facilities about the topics of Mathematics, Science and basic Engineering and Environmental Engineering; to have ability analysing of engineering problems and solving of these problems by using theoretical and practical knowledge in these areas.
• To have ability for identify, define and formulate complex engineering problems; for this purpose to have ability to select and apply appropriate analysis, modeling, design and projecting methods and their application.
• To have ability to design of a complex system and process in the field of environmental engineering with modern methods to meet the needs needed in a systematic way.
• To have ability choosing and using of required modern techniques and tools to analyze and solve of the problems on Environmental engineering applications; ability to effective use of information technology.
• To have ability for design, conduct experiments, collect data, analyze and interpret results for the study of complex engineering problems or research related to environmental engineering.
• Ability to function effectively as an individual or multidisciplinary facilities; ability to work individually.
• To have skill effective oral and written communication in Turkish; to have at least foreign language knowledge; to have ability reporting and interpreting of reports by effectively.
• To gain conscious of the necessity of life-long learning; to have ability access to information, follow the developing on science and technology, and renew itself constantly.
• To have knowledge about applications in professional life such as project management, risk management; to gain the awareness about entrepreneurship, innovation and sustainable development .
• To act in accordance with ethical principles, professional and ethical responsibility; information on standards used in engineering applications.
• To have knowledge about the effects of engineering applications on health, environment, and security at the universal and social scales and contemporary problems; to gain awareness about legal consequences of engineering solutions.

In the Department of Environmental Engineering, 1 midterm exam, 1 final exam and 1 repeat exam are applied in each academic semester. Except for exams, they intern institute or private organization which employ environmental engineer. This section has explained in course description and application form of releated course. Department of Environmental Engineering of Engineering Faculty, admits students with higher education entrance exam determined by ÖSYM every year. In addition, it has opportunity to internal and external transfer between universities as arequirement of the application.

Student graduated from Department of Environmental Engineering can work municipality, provincial bank, state hydraulic works, various public institution such as Ministry of Environmental and Urbanization, industrial plants, environmental technologies and services- producing private organization, voluntary organizations in protecting the environmentas an environmental engineer. Students graduated from this department have the opportunity to continue their academic careers.
