• To raise individuals who are committed to Atatürk’s reforms and principles and to Turkish Independence, patriotic, and have a republican vision.
• To know the structure and rules of Turkish language, to use Turkish properly and effectively.
• To spend effort for children to use Turkish accurately.
• To know the basic concepts and development processes of child development and education field, to keep up-to-date with the developments in the field.
• To possess knowledge and skills about children’s psychology and mental health.
• To possess knowledge about children’s health and diseases.
• To implement teaching and learning processes by taking into account children’s development and individual differences.
• To know how to design and use teaching methods, techniques and equipment related to child development and education.
• To perform drama, play and music events that support child development and education.
• To possess professional ethics, responsibility and qualities as a child development specialist.
• To have knowledge of nutrition in relation to child development and education and prepare diets.
• To have children gain the skills needed for primary education.
• To implement appropriate educational activities for children requiring special education and offer guidance.
• To understand the relations among the society, the family, and the child and implement activities for family involvement.
• To use information and communication technologies and computer software needed in the field, to perform computer-assisted activities.

For each course, the method of assessment and grading is defined "Course Information Form" in details.

The admissions of students to the programs are made according to the Student Selection and Placement Center (OSYM &ndash; University entrance exam) within the framework set by the regulations of Higher Education Council (HEC). After students inform the Student Selection and Placement Center about what programs they want to study at, students are placed in the related programs according to their scores they got from the exam. Graduates of related vocational high schools can enroll in the department within the framework set by the regulations of Higher Education Council (HEC).<br /> <br /> Foreign students are admitted to the related programs with the scores of internationally acceptable exams such as SAT, ACT or are admitted to the related programs with their high school graduation grades (Undergraduate and Graduate Programs for Foreign Students Admission Guidelines).<br /> <br /> The admission of students of General Academic Exchange Protocol to the related programs are done within the framework of the bilateral agreements (ERASMUS, FARABI, etc) signed between Duzce University and the partner universities. Guest students may enroll into the courses in this program, if the related academic unit approves. Sufficient language knowledge is required to monitor the program.

<span style="font-family: Arial;">Ministry of Education depends on the private and public school pre-school education centers, kindergarten, Social Services and Child Protection Institution, depending on the day-care homes, kindergartens and nurseries, child care centers, children's clinics game room, special education and rehabilitation centers, child development institutions are some of the graduates can work.</span>
