- Kendi sorumluluğunda normal doğumu yaptırır, acil ve riskli durumları yönetir ve uygun yaklaşımlarda bulunur.
- Gebelik, doğum ve doğum sonu dönem anne ve bebeğin izlenmesi ve bakımını yapar, riskli durumları erken dönemde saptar ve sevk eder.
- Ebelik uygulamalarını bilimsel kanıtlar, teknolojik gelişmeler ve sağlık politikaları ışığında kültüre duyarlı şekilde gerçekleştirir.

- Öğrencilerin kayıt kabul sınav ve değerlendirme işlemleri yüksek öğrenim kanununa ve bu kanuna dayalı olarak çıkarılan yüksek öğretim kurulu kararlarına ve yönetmeliklerine göre yapılmaktadır.
- Sınavlar öğrenci seçme ve yerleştirme merkezi (ÖSYM) tarafından gerçekleştirilmektedir.
- Ebeler kamu ve özel sektörde görev yapmaktadır.
- Sağlık Bakanlığı hastaneleri ve temel sağlık hizmetlerinde, üniversite hastaneleri ve özel sağlık merkezlerinde çalışmaktadırlar.
- Ayrıca özel sağlık kabinleri açarak mesleklerini serbest olarak icra edebilirler.
