- Gazetecilik temel kavram ve uygulamalarını bilir. Kuramsal ve uygulamalı olarak bir bilimsel araştırmanın nasıl yapılması gerektiğini bilir.
- Yerel, ulusal ve uluslararası düzeyde siyasal, ekonomik, kültürel ve toplumsal yapıların dinamiklerine ve bu dinamiklerin kavranmasına yönelik bilgiye sahip olur. İçerisinde medyanın rol ve sorumluluklarının düzenlendiği anayasal, yasal ve uluslar arası yasal çerçeveyi bilir.
- Gazetecilik mesleğini yürütebilmek için gerekli araç ve teknolojileri kullanabilir.
- Bilişim teknolojilerini basın sektöründe kullanabilme kabiliyetine sahip olurlar.
