The final grades of these courses are turned into absolute grades or Successful (BI) / Unsuccessful (BZ) when the evaluation process is complete.

Calculating final grade and explanations   ARTICLE 41 –

  • Final grades are calculated by considering statistical dispersion of grades and class average and converted to letter grades by “Beykoz University Relative Evaluation Directions” For the numbers of students that are not applicable to minimum relative evaluation, absolute grading system is used. The correlation between absolute grades and letter grades and their numeric grade equivalents are given in Table 1. Table 1: The correlation between absolute grades and letter grades and their numeric grade equivalents     Absolute Grade Letter Grade Numeric Grade Meaning 90 - 100 AA 4,0 Perfect 80 - 89 BA 3,5 Very Good 73 - 79 BB 3,0 Good 66 - 72 CB 2,5 Average 60 - 65 CC 2,0 Sufficient 55 - 59 DC 1,5 Pass 50-54 DD 1,0 Pass 36- 49 FD 0,5 Fail 0 - 35 FF 0,0 Fail due to absence - DZ 0,0 Fail due to absence - BI - Successful - BZ - Unsuccessful - M - Exempted  -  W  - Withdrawal  -   E  - Incomplete Grade

Access Requirements

The requirements for admission to this program are given under the heading "General Admission Requirements". There are no special conditions specific to the program other than these conditions.

Conditions for Success-
Progression Paths (Relationship Type)

Students who graduate from the department are employed in public and private organizations (General Directorate of Civil Aviation - SHGM, State Airports Authority -DHMI) that operate in the aviation industry. They can work in several areas, such as air transport (Türk Hava Yolları – THY, Pegasus, Onur Air, Atlas Global, Sun Express, Bora Jet, Corendon, Hürkuş, Tailwind, İzmir Airlines), airline management, airport management (TAV, IFC, IC İçtaş), catering (THY DO&CO, LSG Sky chefs, etc.) and ground services (TGS, Çelebi, HAVAŞ, FLY Service etc.), aviation safety, air cargo (THY, ACT Airlines, MNG, ULS), passenger services ve aircraft maintenance services. The rapid development of the aviation industry and the lack of qualified personnel in this area increase the demand for the graduates of our department. In the same vain, in addition to the 56 airports open to civil air traffic in Turkey, Istanbul Airport has began to operate in 2018. It will be one of the largest airports in the world with its 150 million annual passenger capacity. It will be one of the most important transfer centers in the world that will serve both domestic and international passengers as well as transit passengers. It is estimated that this airport will create at least 100,000 new jobs in the aviation sector. Also, the newly opened Aeronautical Repair and Modification Center(ARMC) , which makes Turkey the most important aircraft maintenance center, will serve three continents and provide aircraft maintenance service to 11 aircrafts at the same time in Sabiha Gökçen International Airport. THY is currently the leader in the aviation industry in terms of flying destinations and countries (124 countries and 318 destinations). Similarly, our other airlines reach more than 100 destinations in dozens of countries. Following the development of the airlines, TAV company, which renovates terminal buildings, became a world brand in terminal building and airport operation and it is currently operating in 17 countries with 76 airports. Also, ground services companies such as ÇELEBİ and HAVAŞ are expanding their services in 5 countries along with catering firms, such as DO&CO, which offer their services in many countries. In order to keep pace with these rapid developments, the numbers of private airline companies, fleet capacities and infrastructural facilities need to be increased. By the same token, it is necessary to provide qualified personnel at every stage of the activities to surmount every problem encountered in the industry.
