- İktisat bilimiyle ilgili olarak ileri düzeyde bilgiye sahip olur ve mevcut iktisadi teorilerin eleştirisini yapabilecek yetkinlikte olur.
- Mevcut iktisadi bilgisini kullanarak uygulanması gereken iktisat politikaları hususunda görüş sunabilecek yetkinlikte olur.
- Hayat boyu öğrenme felsefesine sahip olur ve kendisini her alanda geliştirmeye çalışır.

Ölçme ve Değerlendirme Yöntemleri
- Her öğrencinin dönem başında derslere kayıt yaptırması ve dönem sonu sınavına girebilmesi için ise derslerin en az %70ine devam etmiş olması gereklidir. Öğrenciler her ders için en az 1 yarıyıl sonu sınavına tabi tutulurlar.
- Tüm sınavlar 100 puan üzerinden değerlendirilir.
- Yarıyıl sonu sınavından Doktora için en az 75 puan alma zorunluluğu vardır.
- Bir dersten AA, BA, BB, ve CB harf notlarından birini alan öğrenciler o dersi başarmış sayılırlar.
- Doktora için mevcut olan 24 dersten 240 kredi ders alan ve tümünü başarıyla tamamlayan ve konusuyla ilgili alanda hazırladığı tezi seçilmiş bir jüri önünde başarıyla savunan öğrencilere İktisat Alanında Doktora diploması verilir.
