The English Language Teaching undergraduate program offers both theoretical knowledge and practical experiences in order to train prospective teachers as well-equipped and competent individuals. During the program, prospective teachers are expected not only to attend classes but also to actively participate in various observation, research and practice activities. The development of effective teaching skills is possible not only through short-term practices but also through a long-term and systematic process. In this respect, activities such as observation studies, school experience and teaching practices have been structured in the program spread over five semesters together with method courses in order to reinforce the professional knowledge, skills and attitudes of pre-service teachers. Thus, the competencies of pre-service teachers to take responsibility and practice are developed gradually over time.

Graduates can work as English teachers in schools affiliated to the Ministry of National Education, universities, and private educational institutions.

Students studying at HKU may be exempted from some courses within the framework of certain regulations. If the content of the course taken at another institution is appropriate to the content of the course given at HKU, the student may be exempted from this course, provided that it is approved by the relevant faculty/institute directorate.

Methods of measuring and evaluating the success of students in education and training processes; exam types and their contribution to the course success grade are determined by the “Hasan Kalyoncu University Associate and Undergraduate Education and Examination Regulations” prepared in accordance with the basic principles determined by the Higher Education Council (YÖK).
Different methods such as homework, project, application, midterm and final exam are used in measurement and evaluation. The measurement and evaluation method applied for each course and the percentage effect of the method on the success grade are detailed in the “Course Information Package” of the relevant course.
Letter and numeric grading systems are used to evaluate student success. In credit courses, students' success grade is determined over 100 full points. These points are converted into letter grades corresponding to the coefficient number in the table in Article 32 of Hasan Kalyoncu University Associate and Undergraduate Education and Examination Regulations and reflected on the student transcript. “S” (Successful), ‘U’ (Unsuccessful), ‘I’ (Incomplete) and ‘P’ (Continuing) grades are used in non-credit courses. In addition to these, “M” (Exempt) and “NA” (Absent) grades are used when necessary.
The minimum passing grade for credit courses is DD and for non-credit courses is S. Credit courses that are not graded by the instructor within the period specified in the academic calendar are treated as FF and non-credit courses are treated as U.
A student who receives a grade of S, M, DD or higher in a course is considered successful. A student who receives a grade of FD, FF, U and NA in a course is considered unsuccessful and must repeat the course.

To oversee the quality of higher education programs;

YÖK is responsible for the planning, organization, management and supervision of education and training and other activities carried out in higher education institutions.

“University Monitoring and Evaluation Reports” of higher education institutions are published every year within the framework of the criteria determined by YÖK. The reports prepared according to these reports, including quantitative and qualitative evaluations of higher education institutions, are shared with the public by YÖK.

These reports, which include quantitative and qualitative evaluations of foundation higher education institutions, are shared with the public by YÖK. Quality assurance of undergraduate programs in higher education is ensured according to the “Procedures and Principles for Ensuring Quality Assurance of Higher Education Diploma Programs”:

1. Creation and Approval of Curricula:

1.1. YÖK determines the minimum standards and criteria required for the opening of undergraduate departments and programs in higher education institutions.

1.2. The curriculum of undergraduate programs in higher education institutions and the learning outcomes that each program will provide to students are determined by the senates of higher education institutions in accordance with the basic principles determined by YÖK on these issues.

1.3. After the curriculum of the National Core Curriculum is accepted by the relevant Council of Deans, it is implemented by higher education institutions with the approval of YÖK.

2. Assessment and Evaluation: The measurement and evaluation of the learning outcomes of each undergraduate program is carried out according to the education, training and examination regulations prepared by higher education institutions in accordance with the basic principles determined by YÖK.

3. Certification: Students enrolled in undergraduate programs, if they successfully complete the course credits and other obligations determined by higher education institutions; receive an undergraduate diploma.

4. Self-Assessment-External Evaluation: In the context of continuous monitoring, higher education institutions enter the “Institutional Internal Evaluation Reports” of the previous year into the Information System prepared by the Higher Education Quality Council (YÖKAK) at the beginning of each year. Accreditation decisions given by accreditation bodies authorized or recognized by YÖKAK also indicate that the quality assurance of the qualifications of the programs is ensured. YÖKAK conducts regular review activities regarding the qualifications determined in accordance with the legislation.

It also carries out activities in accordance with TS EN 9001 Quality Management System Standards.

Students who want to enroll in the department must complete the processes / exams determined by ÖSYM within the framework of the academic and legal legislation of the university. A student who has started his/her education in an equivalent program at home or abroad can apply for transfer. The admission of students is examined and evaluated individually before the start of the semester, taking into account the conditions of each student and the degree applied for. Students can apply to master's, doctoral or proficiency in art programs in their own or related fields.
