The aim of the Occupational Health and Safety Program, in accordance with the needs and technological developments in the world; in the public and private sectors that receive and provide occupational health and safety services;

Occupational Safety Specialist (Graduates can become Class C Occupational Safety Specialist if they are successful in the Class C Occupational Safety Specialist exam held by the Measurement, Selection and Placement Center by completing their education in educational institutions authorized by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security).

Occupational Health and Safety Technician

To train Occupational Health and Safety Professionals who can take part in projects of various sizes.

Occupational Health and Safety program education and training is carried out in the form of theoretical and applied formal education.

In addition, in addition to the laboratories and application areas within the higher education institution, applied trainings are carried out in workplaces as internship and vocational training in the enterprise.

Measurement and evaluation processes are carried out in accordance with the education and examination regulations and directives of our university. Measurement and evaluation is carried out by evaluating the activities during the semester (midterm, homework, performance, quiz, etc.) and at the end of the semester (final exam).

The explanation of letter grades is as follows:

1) A student who receives one of the letter grades AA, BA, BB, CB, CC, DC and DD from a course is considered to have succeeded in that course.

2) A student who receives one of the letter grades FD and FF from a course is considered unsuccessful in that course.

3) Students who fail to fulfill their attendance obligations or who fail because they do not meet the conditions for course practices are given a grade of DZ. DZ grade is treated as FF grade in the calculation of grade averages.

4) Students who do not take the final exam are given a grade of GR regardless of their semester work. GR grades are treated as FF grades in grade point averages.

5) M grade is given as the success grade for the exemption exam and the courses exempted within the scope of Article 11. M grades are not included in the grade point averages.

6) YT and YZ letter grades are used to indicate success in courses that are not eligible to be included in the grade point average with the decision of the relevant board and the approval of the Senate. Successful students are given a letter grade of YT and unsuccessful students are given a letter grade of YZ.

7) W is the grade used to identify the student's withdrawal from the course on the transcript if the student withdraws from the course within the periods specified in the academic calendar.

8) E grade is a temporary grade given to courses in which the evaluation process has not been completed and the grade has not been entered in applied courses such as internships. If the conditions of the related course are met within the specified period, the E grade is converted into a successful grade (YT) for the course it is related to.

To oversee the quality of higher education programs;

YÖK is responsible for the planning, organization, management and supervision of education and training and other activities carried out in higher education institutions.

“University Monitoring and Evaluation Reports” of higher education institutions are published every year within the framework of the criteria determined by YÖK. The reports prepared according to these reports, including quantitative and qualitative evaluations of higher education institutions, are shared with the public by YÖK.

1. Creation and Approval of Curricula:

1.1. YÖK determines the minimum standards and criteria required for the opening of associate degree departments and programs in higher education institutions.

1.2. The curriculum of associate degree programs in higher education institutions and the learning outcomes that each program will provide to students are determined by the senates of higher education institutions in accordance with the basic principles determined by YÖK on these issues.

1.3. After the curriculum of the National Core Curriculum is accepted by the relevant Council of Deans, it is implemented by higher education institutions with the approval of YÖK.

2. Assessment and Evaluation: How the measurement and evaluation of the learning outcomes that each associate degree program will provide to the student is carried out according to the education and training and examination regulations prepared by higher education institutions in accordance with the basic principles determined by YÖK on these issues.

3. Certification: Students enrolled in associate degree programs receive an associate degree diploma if they successfully complete the course credits and other obligations determined by higher education institutions.

4. Self-Assessment-External Evaluation: In the context of continuous monitoring, higher education institutions enter the “Institutional Internal Evaluation Reports” of the previous year into the Information System prepared by the Higher Education Quality Council (YÖKAK) at the beginning of each year. YÖKAK shares the “Institutional Feedback Report” prepared for the external evaluation of higher education institutions with the public. In addition, accreditation decisions issued by accreditation bodies authorized or recognized by YÖKAK also indicate that the quality assurance of the qualifications of the programs is ensured. YÖKAK conducts regular review activities regarding the qualifications determined in accordance with the legislation.

5- Occupational Health and Safety Associate Degree Program was accredited by the Association for Evaluation and Accreditation of Vocational Education in 2025.

a.) University Entrance Exam conducted by ÖSYM:

Basic Proficiency Test (TYT): The first stage of university entrance exam in Turkey, TYT is a comprehensive exam that assesses the basic academic competencies of candidates. TYT measures success in basic courses such as Turkish, Mathematics, Social Sciences and Science. Students who want to apply to the Occupational Health and Safety Associate Degree Program can make preferences with the scores they get from TYT.

In line with the preferences of the students, university placement procedures are carried out centrally by ÖSYM. After the placement results are announced, registration procedures are carried out online through the e-Government system or face-to-face through the university's student affairs unit. The documents and procedures required during the registration process are communicated to students through the university's official website and related announcements.

b.) YÖS (Foreign Student Examination) for Foreign Students:

Foreign students who wish to study at universities in Turkey must take the YÖS (Foreign National Student Exam). This exam measures students' math and general abilities and is held on the dates determined by the universities. Foreign students can apply to the Occupational Health and Safety Program with the scores they get from this exam.

c.) Horizontal Transfer:

Students studying in other universities in Turkey or in different programs of the same university can transfer to the Occupational Health and Safety Program if they meet certain academic success criteria. This transfer process is evaluated according to the student's GPA and program quotas. Transfer offers students the opportunity to gain different academic experiences.

d.) Double Major Program (DMP):

Students who successfully study at the same university and meet certain academic standards may be eligible to study in a second undergraduate program. The Occupational Health and Safety Program opens its doors to such students within the scope of the double major program. The double major program offers students the opportunity to specialize in two different fields and expand their career opportunities.

Students who graduate from this program can make vertical transfer to undergraduate programs as a result of the Vertical Transfer Examination (DGS) conducted by ÖSYM.

Vocational associate degree students have the right to participate in double major programs opened by the higher education institutions where they are studying. Students enrolled in double major programs can take courses from both diploma programs simultaneously and if they are successful, they can receive two separate associate degree diplomas.

Graduates are entitled to receive the title of Class C Occupational Safety Specialist if they are successful in the Class C Occupational Safety Specialist Examination conducted by the Measurement, Selection and Placement Center after completing the necessary training in educational institutions authorized by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security.

In addition, within the framework of the Occupational Health and Safety Law No. 6331 and related regulations, those who wish to upgrade their specialization class to Class B and Class A must fulfill the legal requirements stipulated in the legislation.
