• Occupational Health and Safety Provides necessary work in the workplace in accordance with its legislation.
• Proposals are made to identify hazards in the workplace and to carry out risk assessments, remove hazards from them, and take risks under control.

• Priority is given to measures to eliminate the danger in the source according to the characteristics of the work and the workplace, and if necessary, evaluation is made based on the measurements, the employer takes the suggestions of the employees or their representatives about the necessary security measures to be taken and makes proposals.
• The periodic inspection, maintenance and measurement plans to be made at the workplace and the prepared plans are applied.
• Taking into consideration the results of the risk assessment, emergency plans are prepared and necessary exercises are carried out which describe the potential of sudden or near dangerous situations and accidents and how to avoid the risks associated with them.
• It manages fire fighting and fire fighting activities such as prevention of fire and explosion, taking measures in case of fire and explosion, control of fire protection equipment and tools, creation of fire crews, fire extinguishment, etc.
• By working in cooperation with the Workplace Health Unit, the workplace physician evaluates the health and safety status of the workplace, accidents and occupational diseases that may occur in the workplace, and makes preventive action plans according to the evaluation results.
• Makes and implements corrective action plans by conducting investigations and researches in order not to repeat accidents or occupational diseases that occur in the workplace.
• If a new system is installed in the workplace or the machine or device is taken out; determines the health and safety characteristics of the system to be installed or the machine or device to be taken, and reports the employer to install the appropriate system, machine or device.
• The employer reports on information and recommendations on the selection, provision, use, maintenance and testing of appropriate personal protectors.
• The working environment ensures that workers from the perspective of worker health, work hygiene and environmental pollution can be developed in a way that they can work in a healthy and happy way.
• Identify physical, chemical, ergonomic and psychological stressors in the working environment and their effects on employees and apply them by planning the necessary improvement works.
• It enables the identification and implementation of additional measures and regulations that must be taken in the work environment due to the employee's personal health condition.
• All employees are regularly informed and educated about the health check-ups that are appropriate for their work and working conditions.
• It ensures that every stage of production is regulated according to the rules of work and health, taking into account high efficiency and safety.

One midterm exam (quiz, homework), final exam and condition examination are given for each course given in the programs. The achievement score of the midterm exam (if any, short term exams and assignments) is 40% and the final exam (or condition examination) is 60%. In order to be able to take the final exam, the student must fulfill the attendance requirements in the regulations. All the exams are evaluated over 100 points and the relative evaluation system is applied in the calculation of the students' achievement grade. In this evaluation; the instructor takes into consideration the statistical results of the scores of the semester / year and the semester / year-end exams of the students who take the course and the grades taken are converted into the 4-letter system within the framework of the principles specified in the regulation. The Weighted Grade Point Average (WGPA), which is formed from the notes received by the student, can not take courses in the next semester for 2 consecutive semesters below 2.00. A student who receives one of the grades AA, BA, BB, CB and CC is deemed to have completed the course. One lesson from DC and DD are evaluated depending on the student's graduation WGPA. If the WGPA of the student is above the success grade, these courses are defined as successful. In the semesters/ years, these letter grades are evaluated with the coefficients in the calculation of WGPA. The FF grade is awarded to the students who have failed the corresponding course. The student who receives FF grade must take the course in the first semester / year and fulfill the attendance and examination requirements. Courses rated with success grades M and G do not participate in the evaluation of WGPA calculation.

Ataturk University Erzurum Vocational School are taken students with special requirements and students who have got enough points in YGS-2 score type as the result of the exam made by the Higher Education Council Measurement Selection and Placement Center. Programs are also accepted as students through horizontal transfer. These transitions are regulated by a directive and students can switch between diploma programs of different higher education institutions or diploma programs within the same higher education institution only within the previously announced number and transition conditions.

Our students who graduate from this department are working as "Job Security Technicians" in public institutions and private sector. In addition, the winners of the Occupational Safety Proficiency Test conducted by the Measurement, Selection and Placement Center are working as "Occupational Safety Experts".
