The aim of the Architecture Department Undergraduate Program is to train architects who can produce creative solutions at conceptual and practical levels by using critical thinking methods to architectural problems encountered in national and international contexts, who have internalized the level of contemporary development and who are aware of their social responsibilities. The department provides full scholarship education and the language of education is English.

Education and training are provided in formal, open (face to face) or distance education format. Face to face education is provided in studios, classrooms, smart classrooms, workshops, and building material libraries for projects and practical courses. In addition, students complete their education by doing internships in architecture offices and construction sites.

• Architectural design uses the theoretical/conceptual and practical knowledge acquired for design activities and research.
• Uses critical thinking methods to determine, define and effectively discuss aesthetic, functional and structural requirements for the solution of design problems.
• Becomes aware of the diversity of social patterns, user needs, values ​​and behavioral norms, which are important inputs in the formation of the built environment, at local, regional, national and international scales.
• Has knowledge and skills about architectural design methods that are human and society-oriented and sensitive to the natural and built environment in the field of architecture.
• Has the ability to understand the relationship between architecture and other disciplines, to cooperate, to develop comprehensive projects; and to take responsibility in independent and group studies.

Measurement and evaluation methods, types of exams and their contribution to course success grades are determined by the senates of higher education institutions in accordance with the basic principles determined by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) on these issues. Different methods such as homework, projects, applications, midterm exams and final exams are used in measurement and evaluation. Systems based on letters or grades are used in the evaluation of student success.

Within the scope of the provisions of Article 23, Clauses 1 and 4 of the BAU Undergraduate Education-Training Regulation, “At least one midterm exam and one semester/end-of-year exam are held among the evaluation activities of each course. If the course instructor deems it appropriate, he/she may evaluate homework, laboratory and similar mid-term/end-of-year studies in giving the mid-term/end-of-year grade. The student's course success grade is evaluated by the instructor considering the results of the mid-term exams and mid-term/end-of-year exams, as well as the mid-term/end-of-year studies and attendance to the courses. The relevant instructor is authorized to determine the weights of the mid-term and mid-term/end-of-year exams and to convert these grades into the course success grade, with the contribution of the mid-term/end-of-year exam being at least forty percent (40%). The rules regarding the evaluation are clearly stated in the course curriculum at the beginning of the semester/end-of-year and announced to the students. The student's success grade in a course is determined by applying the relative evaluation method, as announced in the course curriculum, considering all activities during the semester/end-of-year.”

In order to monitor the quality of higher education programs;

• YÖK is responsible for planning, organizing, managing and supervising education and training and other activities in higher education institutions.

• “University Monitoring and Evaluation Reports” of higher education institutions prepared within the framework of criteria determined by YÖK are published every year. Reports prepared according to these reports, which include quantitative and qualitative evaluations of higher education institutions, are shared with the public by YÖK.

• “Foundation Higher Education Institutions Report” containing academic, administrative and financial data of foundation higher education institutions is published every year by YÖK. These reports, which include quantitative and qualitative evaluations of foundation higher education institutions, are shared with the public by YÖK. The quality assurance of undergraduate programs in higher education is provided according to the “Procedures and Principles for the Quality Assurance of Higher Education Diploma Programs”:

1. Creation and Approval of Curriculum: The minimum standards and criteria required for the opening of undergraduate departments and programs in higher education institutions are determined by the Council of Higher Education.

1.1. The curriculum of undergraduate programs in higher education institutions and the learning outcomes that each program will provide to students are determined by the senates of higher education institutions in accordance with the basic principles determined by the Council of Higher Education on these issues.

1.2. The curriculum of the National Core Education Programs is implemented by higher education institutions with the approval of the Council of Higher Education after being approved by the relevant Deans Council.

2. Measurement and Evaluation: The measurement and evaluation of the learning outcomes that each undergraduate program will provide to students is carried out in accordance with the education and examination regulations prepared by higher education institutions in accordance with the basic principles determined by the Council of Higher Education on these issues.

3. Certification: Students enrolled in undergraduate programs receive a bachelor's degree if they successfully complete the course credits and other obligations determined by higher education institutions.

4. Self-Assessment-External Evaluation: In the context of continuous monitoring, higher education institutions enter the "Internal Institutional Evaluation Reports" of the previous year into the Information System prepared by the Higher Education Quality Board (YÖKAK) at the beginning of each year. YÖKAK shares the "Institutional Feedback Report" prepared by YÖKAK regarding the external evaluation of higher education institutions with the public. In addition, accreditation decisions made by accreditation institutions authorized or recognized by YÖKAK also show that the quality assurance of the program qualifications is provided. YÖKAK conducts regular review activities regarding the qualifications determined in accordance with the legislation.

Faculty of Architecture and Design, Architecture Undergraduate Program is accredited by the Architecture Accreditation Institution (MiAK). (MİAK)

Bahçeşehir University Faculty of Architecture and Design Architecture English Undergraduate Program, after the 3-year accreditation it received in 2020, has been entitled to receive “CONDITIONAL 6-YEAR ACCREDITATION” as specified in article 7.2 of the MiAK Processes (2021) document, with the decision taken at the meeting of the Architecture Accreditation Board on August 2, 2023, as a result of the process that started in February 2022 and was completed with the institution visit held on May 3-5, 2023.

Student admission to this program is made according to the YGS and LYS central exams conducted by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK). Foreign students are accepted to this program with an internationally recognized high school diploma and internationally valid exam results. Acceptance of exchange students is made within the framework of bilateral agreements (Erasmus or General Academic Protocol) signed between Bahceşehir University and the partner university. Guest students can register for the courses given in this program if the relevant academic unit approves. Since the language of instruction is English in all programs at our university, students must also document their English Language Proficiency in order to register for these courses.
To have graduated from secondary education institutions or secondary education institutions of foreign countries whose equivalence is approved by the Ministry of National Education and to have met the admission requirements for undergraduate programs of higher education institutions.
To have been placed in the relevant undergraduate program of the higher education institution as a result of the central exam conducted by the Evaluation, Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM), the procedures and principles of which are determined by YÖK.

To be placed in undergraduate programs that are a continuation of the fields they have graduated from higher education institutions for associate degree graduates, as a result of the Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS) conducted by ÖSYM, the procedures and principles of which are determined by YÖK.

Architecture graduates can work in public institutions such as ministries, municipalities, universities and institutes, as well as in all kinds of private companies, offices and banks related to architectural design and construction processes.
