- Mimari tasarım alanı sorunlarına çeşitli açılardan bakabilmek, çeşitli alternatif çözümler üretebilmek.
- Çalışılan araştırma alanında yeni yöntem ve yaklaşımlar sergileyebilmek.
- Mimarlık, güzel sanatlar, teknoloji ve beşeri bilimler çerçevesinde yeterli düzeyde tarihsel, kuramsal bilgiyi edinmek; kuram ile uygulama arasındaki ilişkiyi kurabilmek; güncel tartışma konularına eleştirel bir bakış ile yaklaşabilmek, bu tartışmaları kendi araştırma alanında etkin bir şekilde sunabilmek.
- Edinilen bilgi ve becerileri, disiplinler arası araştırma önerme ve yürütebilme çerçevesinde etkin olarak kullanabilmek.
- Üzerinde çalışılan bir araştırma konusunu, bulguları ve kuramsal altyapısı ile farklı dinleyici kitlelerine uygun bir biçimde aktarabilmek.
Mimarlık yüksek lisans mezunları; mimarlıkla ilgili eğitim ve öğretim kuruluşlarında akademik eleman olarak, özel ve kamu kuruluşlarının projelendirme ve inşaat birimlerinde tasarım, uygulama ve denetim aşamalarında faaliyet gösterebilirler. Ayrıca bağımsız olarak çalışabilirler.

- To acquire sufficient historical and theoretical knowledge in architecture, fine arts, technology and human sciences; to establish the relationship between theory and practice; to approach contemporary debates with a critical view and to present these discussions in an effective way in their research area.
