• Using the voice in the principles of vocal education with rigtht technique; achieving the abiliy of individual and collective singing.
• Possessing the educational music repertoir and being able to accompany school songs with piano.
• Being able to play educational music samples with widely used instruments in schools.
• Analyzing music from the aspects of kind and form and being equipped in poliphonizing subject.
• Achieving the ability of musical hearing, reading and writing by comprehending inter-pitch relations.
• Being equipped about the birth and history of music and era-style properties.
• Being able to form vocal and instrumental groups, gaining the ability of performing with and conducting these ensembles.
• Possessing basic knowledge in the field of Traditional Turkish Music and being able to perform traditional pieces in a qualified way.
• Being qualified in composing educational music and being able to compose simple school songs.
• Knowing the physical characteristics of instruments and executing repairment and maintenance of the instruments.
• Acknowledging the Turkish National Education System, teaching profession and field of Education Sciences from all aspects.
• Being equipped in planning-organizing musical activities; and in the subject of music teaching methods and techniques.
• Being aware of different learning approaches fitting the evolution properties of students.
• Planning, operating and evaluating a lesson with the help of the information and abilities gained during the program.
• Comprehending individuals personal, professional, educational and developmental needs and take these into account during applications.

• The measurement and assesment executed for each lesson is identified in detail on the information package for every lesson.
• In order to complete this program one must have application and teaching knowledge.
• To enter the department one must also succesfully pass the Special Ability Exam.

Students are approved to Music Education Program by special talent exam. Candidates must have taken the “passing to undergraduate exam (YGS Turkish abb.)” organized by “center of student selection and emplacement (ÖSYM Turkish abb.)” and must have had a score over the base score shown in the examination guide book. Candidates with these specialities are admitted to special talent exam. The exam is executed in the fields of musical hearing, voice and instrument. The quota is 25 students. Students in the main list enroll. Substitutes are invited instead of the ones who do not enroll. Additionally, a student who has already started an en equivalent program either in-land or foreign land can apply to level-passing and student transfer programs.

This program fulfills the need for qualified music educator in the country. Graduates can work as music teachers in schools either private or government. Also they can work as independent musicians, or they can work in any official foundation related to music.
