The program aims to train qualified health technicians who can prepare vision aids (glasses, contact lenses) according to prescriptions prepared by ophthalmologists, and who have the necessary skills to serve as responsible managers in optical establishments or open their own business.

• To train individuals with the knowledge and skills necessary for the optician profession, who can fulfill their professional responsibilities.

Evaluation of Success:

a) The status of students' education is monitored through the University Student Information System (OBS).

b) Success in a course is determined by the course grade. The course success grade is obtained by evaluating the success in the exams, practice, homework, project, project, attendance, laboratory and similar in-semester studies and the final exam together.

c) The success grade of a course is obtained by taking the percentage of the final exam grade, provided that the grade obtained as a result of in-semester exams and measurement systems is not less than 40% and not more than 60%.

d) The instructor of the course is obliged to announce to the students at the beginning of the semester; the content of the course, all kinds of measurement types that will be the basis for calculating the success grade.

e) Students are required to retake the failed compulsory or elective courses. However, if these courses are removed from the program, the relevant department/program determines which course to take.

f) The student must take the failed course with priority.

g) In the semester in which the student repeats the failed course, the attendance requirement for that course is not required.

Success grade:

Grades and coefficients are evaluated as indicated below.

a) Grades are given out of 100.

b) Courses with letter grades of AA, BA, BB, CB, CC are considered successful.

c) Courses with DD and DC letter grades are considered successful if the GPA is 2.00 and above (conditional pass) in Associate Degree programs.

d) Courses with a letter grade of FF are considered unsuccessful in all programs.

e) B and K grades are not included in grade point average calculations.

Grade Point Average:

The grade determined by dividing the sum of the coefficient of the success grade of the courses taken in a semester by the sum of the separate products of the ECTS values of those courses by the sum of the ECTS values of those courses is called Semester Weighted Grade Point Average (WGPA). The division is calculated by taking two digits after the comma and rounding to the upper value. The grade calculated by applying it to all courses taken is called the General Weighted Average (GANO).

To ensure the quality of higher education programs:

• The Council of Higher Education (YÖK) is responsible for planning, organizing, managing, and supervising education, teaching, and other activities in higher education institutions.
• "University Monitoring and Evaluation Reports" prepared within the framework of criteria determined by YÖK for higher education institutions are published annually. These reports, containing quantitative and qualitative evaluations of higher education institutions, are shared with the public by YÖK.
• The "Foundation Higher Education Institutions Report," containing academic, administrative, and financial data for foundation higher education institutions, is published annually by YÖK. These reports, which include quantitative and qualitative evaluations of foundation higher education institutions, are shared with the public by YÖK. Quality assurance for undergraduate programs in higher education is ensured according to the "Principles and Procedures for Ensuring the Quality of Higher Education Diploma Programs":

1. Establishment and Approval of Educational Programs: YÖK determines the minimum standards and criteria required for the opening of undergraduate departments and programs in higher education institutions.

1.1. The curriculum of undergraduate programs in higher education institutions and the learning outcomes of each program are determined by the senates of higher education institutions in accordance with the basic principles determined by YÖK in these matters.

1.2. After the approval of the National Core Education Programs by the relevant Council of Deans, they are implemented by higher education institutions with the approval of YÖK.

2. Measurement and Evaluation: The measurement and evaluation of the learning outcomes that each vocational program will provide to students are conducted according to the teaching and examination regulations prepared by higher education institutions in accordance with the basic principles determined by YÖK in these matters.

3. Certification: Students enrolled in vocational programs receive a bachelor's degree upon successful completion of the course credits and other obligations determined by higher education institutions.

4. Self-Assessment - External Assessment: Higher education institutions enter the "Institutional Self-Assessment Reports" prepared by the Higher Education Quality Board (YÖKAK) for the previous year into the Information System at the beginning of each year. YÖKAK shares the "Institutional Feedback Report" prepared for the external evaluation of higher education institutions with the public. In addition, accreditation decisions given by accreditation bodies authorized or recognized by YÖKAK also indicate that the quality assurance of programs has been ensured. YÖKAK conducts regular review activities regarding the qualifications determined by legislation.

The Opticianry Program admits students through the Central Placement process conducted by the Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM) based on the results of the Basic Proficiency Test (TYT) score type.

Graduates of the Opticianry Program can continue their education by transferring to bachelor's degree programs in Physics, Physics Engineering, and Optical and Acoustic Engineering at various universities through the Vertical Transfer Examination (DGS).
