- Ormanların sahip olduğu tüm ekolojik birimleri ve bu birimler arasındaki ilişki ve etkileşimleri temel düzeyde kavrayabilmek,
- Orman kaynaklarının korunması, dengeli kullanımı, süreklilik ilkesi gözetilerek yararlanmanın düzenlenmesi ve bilimsel planlamaya yönelik bazı teknikleri uygulayabilmek.
- Mevcut ormanların bakımı ve iyileştirilmesi, yeni orman alanlarının oluşturulması için ekosistem tabanlı müdahalelerde bulunabilmek,
- Orman ekosisteminin varlığını ve doğasını biyotik ve abiyotik tehditlere karşı koruma amaçlı teknikleri uygulayabilmek.
- Ormancılık alanında yeni teknoloji ve yöntemleri kullanabilmek.
- Ulusal ve uluslararası ormancılık politikalarını, yasaları ve yükümlülükleri kavrayabilme.
