Ortodonti Doktora Programı ile çene-yüz anomalilerinin ve dişsel bozuklukların teşhisi, hareketli, fonksiyonel/ortopedik, sabit ortodontik ve ortognatik cerrahi tedavi uygulamaları konusunda gerekli bilgi ve beceriye sahip; bilimsel araştırmaları planlama, yürütme ve sonuçlarını yorumlayarak bilime katkı sağlayabilecek ortodontistler yetiştirmek amaçlamaktadır.
- Ortodonti anabilim dalının gerektirdiği temel ve güncel bilgilere sahiptir, meslek yaşamı boyunca, ortodonti alanı ile ilgili bilimsel yayınları takip eder ve mesleki pratiğine uygular.
- Ortodonti alanı ile ilgili çalışmalarda proje üretir, araştırma ekibinin bir üyesi olarak yer alır ve elde edilen sonuçları bilimsel düzeyde değerlendirir.
- Ortodonti bilgilerini sosyal ve bilimsel ortamlarda yazılı, sözlü ve görsel olarak meslektaşları ile paylaşır, karşılaştırır ve bilgi alışverişinde bulunur.
- Ortodonti sağlık politikası ile ilgili fikir üretir, koruyucu ve tedavi edici hekimlik uygulamalarını bilimsel, etik ve kalite süreçleri çerçevesinde değerlendirir.

| Further Info | The student who completes his doctoral thesis submits his thesis to the Institute of Health Sciences. A dissertation is sent to the PhD examination jury established by the Executive Board of Health Sciences Institute. The jury meets within one month at the latest and informs the students in writing about the thesis and takes the student to the thesis examination. Thesis exam consists of submission of thesis work followed by question-answer section. After the completion of the thesis examination, the jury decides acceptance or rejection or correction with absolute majority. This decision will be sent to the Institute of Health Sciences within three days by the Department. The student whose thesis is rejected is disconnected from the higher education institution. The student who has been given a decision of correction should make his / her request within 6 months at the latest and defend his / her thesis in front of the same jury. A student who has accepted a thesis and is successful in the exam is entitled to a PhD Diploma.Ph.D. students are required to be successful in all elective and compulsory courses they have received in 4 semesters, have completed 40 credits and be able to present the results of the orthodontic case treatment with a complete document. Students who succeed in the proficiency test may take the thesis defense examination after they have completed their doctoral dissertation studies after two years of thesis and can document the results of at least 80 cases of orthodontic treatment.
