- Malokluzyonun ve ortodontik tedavinin hasta üzerindeki psikolojik etkilerini bilir, hastayı tedavi süresince yönlendirir ve motive eder,
- Ortodontik tedavi gerekliliğini belirler,
- Bilimsel metodolojiye ve etik kurallara uygun araştırma yapar,
- Ortodonti ile ilgili literatürü ve yenilikleri takip eder, okur ve değerlendirir,
- Seyri ve sonucu ön görülebilir bir ortodontik tedavi planı oluşturur,
- Koruyucu, durdurucu ortodontik uygulamalar yapar,
- Basit ve karmaşık ortodontik-ortopedik tedavi işlemlerini uygular,
- Sendromlu ve kranyofasiyal anomalili hastaların, kranyomandibular bozukluğu olan hastaların interdisipliner tedavilerinde işbirliği yapar.
- Etik kurallara uygun ve yüksek kalitede ortodontik tedavi uygular.
- Mesleki becerisini geliştirmek ve bilgisini artırmak için güncel imkânlardan faydalanır,
- Bilimsel araştırma için bir hipotez kurar, çalışmayı planlar, yürütür ve bulgularını yazılı ve sözlü şekilde sunar,
- Disiplinler arası iş birliği gerektiren dental ve medical problemleri olan hastaların tedavilerinde aktif rol alır.
Gazi Üniversitesi Lisansüstü Eğitim-Öğretim Ve Sınav Yönetmeliğinde yer alan ölçme ve değerlendirme yöntemi kullanılmaktadır,
