Exams; There are six types as midterm, final exam, make-up exam, graduation exam, make-up exam and exemption exam. Exam grades are evaluated out of 100 points. Midterm For each course, at least one midterm exam is given each semester. The contribution of the midterm exam to the letter grade is 40%. 40% in case of a midterm exam, and in case of more than one midterm exam and semester studies, the contribution of the total percentage of these exams or semester studies to the letter grade is determined by the lecturer of the course, so that it does not exceed 40%. Mid-term studies and their calendar are presented to the relevant board by the department chair at the beginning of the semester and announced to the student. For the lessons of a class, a program is prepared in such a way that no more than two exams are held in one day. Midterm exams are held in the eighth week, there are no classes this week. Grades are announced within fifteen days at the latest from the end of the exams. Final exams are held over two weeks at the place, date and time announced by the relevant department chair or the school directorate, and the Registrars Office is also informed about this. The contribution of the final exam to the letter grade is 60%. It is obligatory to get at least 45 points out of 100 in the final exam. Midterm and mid-term studies of students who do not take the final exam or can not get at least 45 points from this exam are not included in the evaluation and these students are evaluated with FF letter grade. make-up exam At the end of each semester, students can take a make-up exam from at most two courses of that semester. In order to take the make-up exam; It is obligatory to register for the relevant courses in the academic year in which the exams will be held and to meet the requirements for these courses to take the final exam. Students must interactively register the courses they want to take the make-up exam within the period specified in the academic calendar. Students who cannot take make-up exams are not given the right to make-up exams. The make-up exam can only be taken from the courses with a letter grade below the CC grade. Courses with letter grades of CC or higher cannot be selected in order to increase grades. It is obligatory to get at least 45 points out of 100 to be successful in the make-up exam. The grade taken from the make-up exam replaces the final exam for that course. A letter grade is given, taking into account the weights of midterm and semester studies. Students who do not take the make-up exam for a course are given a grade of not entered (GR) and the letter grade of this course remains as the end of the semester. Make-up letter grades are included in the semester grade point average. graduation exam For students who have at most two courses left for their graduation; After the final exam and at the time specified in the academic calendar, a graduation exam is held for unsuccessful courses. Students who cannot graduate because their GPA is not 2.00 can take the graduation exam in a maximum of two courses with a DC letter grade. In order for students to take the graduation exam; The relevant courses must have fulfilled the requirements to be able to take the final exam. The graduation exam is held after the make-up exam. In order to be successful in the graduation exam, at least a letter grade of CC must be obtained. The midterm exam grade is not taken into account in the calculation of the success grade. make-up exam The make-up exam is used only for the first midterm exam. The make-up exam for the midterm exam is held in the last week of the semester. Students who cannot take the exams due to health-related excuses should document their situation with a health report from health institutions. It is obligatory to submit the excuse documents to the department chair/dean of the faculty/school directorate/vocational school directorate within one week following the issuance date. Applications made outside of this period will not be processed. A new make-up exam is not held for students who do not take the make-up exam. In case of written application of the students placed as a result of the additional placement made by OSYM, the right of midterm exam is used together with the make-up exams. exemption exam Every year, at the beginning of the academic year, a foreign language exemption exam is held by the University Foreign Languages ??Department on the date determined in the academic calendar.
