Key Learning Outcomes;

Graduates of the programs will be able to;

1. register and accept samples, make fixation and decalcification of the samples and evaluate the cellularity of the liquid samples that coming to the pathology laboratory.
2. prepare fixation solutions, decalcifying agents, basic dye solutions, histochemical and immunohistochemical dye solutions and antibodies and apply them with appropriate methods.
3. participate in macroscopy, fix tissiue, make tissue-embedding, take section from tissue-block , perform the dying procedures prescribed by the physician or by routine methods.
4. control the infection when working with fresh tissue, perform fixation, dyeing, closing and delivery processes working with covering, crushing, frozen section preparations of fresh tissue samples.
5. perform microscopic controls of preparations and solve the problem if there is error, deliver the preparations with their forms to the responsible pathologist, archive the preparation and blocks.
6. make cleaning and disinfection of laboratory equipment, perform calibration of used devices, ensure decontamination works and waste disposal.
7. duly take clinical samples, work by separating the tests that are urgent, may request new samples by rejecting samples that must be rejected according to the Red criteria.

Graduates of the programs will be able to;

1. improve the quality of professional practice by using verbal and nonverbal communication knowledge and skills.
2. apply legal regulations and ethical principles related to their professional practices.
3. evaluate the risk of occupational disease and injury and take basic measures.
4. use evidence-based practices by following the developments in the field continuously.
5. apply psychological first aid in case of traumatic experience.
6. know the situations in which teamwork is required and to be able to work as a team member.
7. know the methods of health protection and promotion and to be able to apply.
