- Patoloji Laboratuvarına gelen tüm histopatolojik ve sitopatolojik örneklerin kayıt ve kabulünü yapar.
- Tüm örneklerin fiksasyonunda kullanılacak fiksatifleri hazırlar, histopatolojik örneklerin fiksasyonunu sağlar.
- Histopatolojik örneklerin makroskobisine uzman patolog ile birlikte aktif olarak katılır.
- Kemik, diş, tendon gibi dokuların dekalsifikasyonlarını sağlar.
- Doku takibini manuel ve/veya otomatik makinede; uygun çözeltilerle, yapar, doku takibinden çıkan dokuları anatomik özelliklerine göre; doğru kodlama ve yönlendirmelerle parafine gömer.
- Farklı mekanizmalara sahip mikrotomları güvenlik kuralları çerçevesinde kullanır, istenen özellik ve kalınlıkta kesit alır.
- Rutin Hematoksilen-Eosin boyama sisteminde kullanılan tüm boya ve yardımcı çözeltileri hazırlar, tüm histopatolojik kesitlere manuel ve/veya otomatik sistemlerde uygular.
- Boyanmış kesitleri uygun kapama maddesi ile kapatır.
- Mikroskopta boyanma kontrolu yapar.
- Doku takibi, boyama ve/veya kapatmada oluşmuş hataları saptar ve düzeltir.
- Hataları kalite güvencesi kapsamında kayıt altına alır.
- Mikroskopta incelenmek üzere; preparatları sorumlu uzman patoloğa istek formları ile birlikte düzenli bir şekilde teslim eder.
- Lam ve blok arşivlerini düzenler.
- Cerrahi otopsilerde; uzman patologla birlikte makroskopik tanımlamayı yapar, organ ve dokuların özelliklerine göre fiksasyonunu sağlar, histopatolojik örneklerde uyguladığı yöntemlerle mikroskoba hazır hale getirir.
- İntraoperatif süreçte; enfeksiyon kontrolunu yapar, güvenli çalışma ortamı sağlayarak taze doku örneklerinden kriyostatta kesit hazırlar, dokundurma, ezme preparatları hazırlar ve rutin Hematoksilen-Eosin boyama yöntemi ile boyar.
- Mikroskopta incemeye hazır hale getirir. Konvansiyonel histokimya yöntemlerinde kullanılacak boya çözeltilerini hazırlar ve yöntemleri uygular, mikroskopta boyanma kontrolunu yapar, hata varsa kaynağını saptar ve sorunu çözer, kayıt altına alır, boyanmış preparatları patoloğa teslim eder.
- İmmunhistokimya (Immunfloresan, immunoenzim histokimya), FISH, SISH, CISH yöntemlerini manuel ve/veya otomatik sistemlerde uygular.
- Boyama sonucunda oluşabilecek sorunları mikroskobik olarak saptar, bağımsız veya uzman patologla birlikte sorunu çözer, kayıt altına alır.
- Jinekoloji dışı sitolojik örneklerin makroskopik tanımlarını yapar.
- Direkt yayma, santrifüj, sitosantrifüj yöntemleri ile preparat hazırlar, fiksasyonu gerçekleştirir.

| Description | Record and accept all histopathological and cytopathological specimens brought to the Pathology Laboratory. Prepare the fixatives to be used in the fixation of all samples and provide the fixation of histopathological samples. Take part in the macroscopy of histopathological samples with the specialist pathologist. Provide decalcifications of tissues such as bone, teeth, tendons. Perform tissue processing manually and/or automatically with appropriate solutions and embed the tissues from tissue processing into the paraffin with correct coding and directions according to its anatomical features. Use microtomes with different mechanisms within the framework of safety rules and take the desired feature and thickness cross-section. Prepare all dying and auxiliary solutions used in the routine Hematoxylene-Eosin staining system and applies them to all histopathological sections in manual and/or automatic systems. Stained sections coverslipping with appropriate coverslipping agent. Stained sections control at microscope. Detect and correct errors tissue processing, staining and/or coverslippping. Record errors within the scope of quality assurance. Make regular deliveries of the preparations to the specialist pathologist for examination under a microscope, along with request forms. He edits the archives of slides and blocks. Make macroscopic identification with the expert pathologist, provide fixation of organs and tissues according to their properties, prepare them for microscopy with the methods they applied in histopathological samples at surgical autopys Prepare frozen section from fresh tissue samples in cryostat, prepare touching, squashing preparations and stained routine Hematoxylene-eosin staining method. Prepare dye solutions to be used in conventional histochemistry methods and apply the methods, check the staining under a microscope, detect the source if there is an error and solve the problem, records it, deliver the stained preparations to the pathologist.
