• Ibn Haldun University Guidance and Psychological Counseling program was established to train psychological counselors and guidance teachers who are competent in their field, aware of current problems and aiming to solve them, knowing Eastern and Western cultures well and building bridges between them. The program aims to provide students with learning environments where they can have the opportunity to research beyond examining psychological counseling and guidance methods in different cultures, as well as to learn by discovering new information and approaches based on research and to learn to continuously improve themselves.

• Uses the concepts, strategies, methods and techniques related to the field of PDR in accordance with the context.
• It offers new, creative and alternative application proposals using modern research methods
• Identify the problems related to PDR in our society and produce practical and creative solutions to these problems
• Explain the similarities and differences of different counseling theories in their own words
• It identifies educationally and socially disadvantaged groups and voluntarily provides psychological services to them with a sense of social responsibility
• In the psychological counseling process, it determines the problems and the importance of the client's needs and performs the necessary applications
• Selects and uses the appropriate test, technique and method among the necessary tests in the consultation process
• Identify students who need help or have special needs in educational settings

At least one midterm and final exam is held for the assessment and evaluation of each course taught in the Faculty of Educational Sciences. In calculating the student's final grade, there must be at least three assessment and evaluation elements. The weight of any assessment item cannot be more than 60%. The ratio of the semester studies to be included in the assessment and evaluation and the final exam in the calculation of the final grade is announced to the students in the course monitoring form announced at the beginning of the semester. The same principles apply to annual courses. For the courses accepted to be taught annually by the Faculty Administrative Board, at least one midterm and final exam are held. The instructor can also include studies such as class attendance, homework and classroom practice in the assessment and evaluation. The final and final exams are held in writing. However, with the decision of the Faculty Administrative Board, exams can also be held orally. In awarding the final grade, all exam and assessment results, semester studies, attendance and participation in classes are taken into consideration. Quizzes can be held when deemed necessary by the instructor. There is no obligation to notify students in advance of the quizzes.

The final exam schedule and the final exam schedule, the dates of the exams and the places where the exams will be held are announced on the date stipulated in the academic calendar. If necessary, exams can be held on weekends. Students are required to take the exams on predetermined dates and places, and to have their identity documents and other documents with them when taking the exam.

Students who cheat, attempt to cheat or help to cheat in the exams, and students who are found to have cheated or helped during the evaluation of the exam papers are considered unsuccessful and the provisions of the relevant legislation are applied to them.

The instructor of each course attaches the one-page course summary report, final grades, exam questions, other assessment documents and course monitoring form and submits it to the relevant dean's office within thirty days at the latest from the date of the final exam. Exam documents and documents related to other assessment and evaluation criteria are kept for two years.

Article 23 of the Ibn Haldun University Undergraduate Education and Examination Regulations is applied in matters related to the exam and other assessment and evaluation elements.

"(1) A letter grading system is used to indicate the degree of success of students in the course. The letters used for this purpose, their weight coefficients and meanings are shown below:

b) Apart from letter grades, the meanings of the temporary NP and permanent CW, E, LA, R, S, T, U, W marks in the transcript are also shown below:

1) CW: Indicates that the student has canceled his/her registration during the semester,

2) E: Indicates the courses that have been passed with the exemption exam. It is not included in the grade point average,

3) LA: Indicates that the student is considered to be on leave during the semester,

4) NP: Indicates that the student did not take the final exam. Those who are compensated within two weeks from the end of the final exam process are converted to a success grade, those who are not converted to FF, and a non-credit course to U,

5) R: Indicates repeated lessons,

6) Q: Indicates success in courses that are not included in the grade point average,

7) U: Indicates failure in courses that are not included in the grade point average,

8) W: Indicates that the student has withdrawn from the course. It doesn't count toward the GPA.".

Calculation of Grade Point Averages and Student Success Status

Ibn Haldun University Undergraduate Education and Examination Regulations Article 29:

"(1) At the end of each semester, the success of the students is monitored with the YNO and GPA values.

(2) The success credit received by a student from a course is obtained by multiplying the ECTS credit value of that course by the final grade coefficient. In calculating the grade point averages, the method of dividing the sum of the success grades of the relevant courses multiplied by the course ECTS credits by the total ECTS credits of the relevant courses is used.

(3) In courses that are repeated due to failure or taken to increase the grade, the final grade is valid regardless of the previous grade. However, previous grades are also shown in the grade document".

In order to observe the quality of higher education programs;

• The Council of Higher Education is responsible for the planning, regulation, management and supervision of education and training and other activities carried out in higher education institutions.

• "University Monitoring and Evaluation Reports" of higher education institutions, which are prepared every year within the framework of the criteria determined by the Council of Higher Education, are published. Reports prepared according to these reports, including quantitative and qualitative evaluations for higher education institutions, are shared with the public by the Council of Higher Education.

• Every year, the Council of Higher Education publishes the "Foundation Higher Education Institutions Report", which includes academic, administrative and financial data of foundation higher education institutions. These reports, which include quantitative and qualitative evaluations made for foundation higher education institutions, are shared with the public by the Council of Higher Education.

Quality assurance of undergraduate programs in higher education is provided according to the "Procedures and Principles for Ensuring Quality Assurance of Higher Education Diploma Programs":

1. Creation and Approval of Curricula:

1.1. YÖK determines the minimum standards and criteria required for the opening of undergraduate departments and programs in higher education institutions.

1.2. The curriculum of undergraduate programs in higher education institutions and the learning outcomes that each program will bring to the student are determined by the senates of higher education institutions in accordance with the basic principles determined by YÖK on these issues.

1.3. After the curriculum of the National Core Education Programs is accepted by the relevant Council of Deans, it is implemented by higher education institutions with the approval of the Council of Higher Education.

2. Assessment and Evaluation: How the measurement and evaluation of the learning outcomes that each undergraduate program will bring to the student is carried out in accordance with the education and training and examination regulations prepared by higher education institutions in accordance with the basic principles determined by YÖK on these issues.

3. Certification: Students enrolled in undergraduate programs, if they successfully complete the course credits and other obligations determined by higher education institutions; receives a bachelor's degree.

4. Self-Evaluation-External Evaluation: At the beginning of each year, higher education institutions enter the "Institutional Internal Evaluation Reports" of the previous year into the Information System prepared by the Higher Education Quality Council (THEQC) in the context of continuous monitoring. YÖKAK shares the "Institutional Feedback Report" prepared by YÖKAK regarding the external evaluation of higher education institutions with the public. In addition, accreditation decisions made by accreditation bodies authorized or recognized by YÖKAK also show that the quality assurance of the qualifications of the programs is ensured. YÖKAK carries out regular review activities regarding the qualifications determined in accordance with the legislation.

The Guidance and Psychological Counseling Program is accredited by YÖKAK and FIBAA for the period of 06 March 2024 – 06 March 2029.

ARTICLE 5 –

(1) Admission of students to the faculties affiliated to the university is carried out by the placement process made by ÖSYM according to the results of the central exam organized by ÖSYM,

ARTICLE 6 –

(1) In accordance with the provisions of the relevant legislation, new registrations to the university can be made electronically (via e-government) or in person on the dates determined and announced by OSYM. For in-person registration, the candidate must apply to the Registrar's Office.

(2) In order to be able to enroll in the undergraduate programs of the university, it is necessary to be placed in the relevant program by OSYM and not to be registered in the formal education programs of another higher education institution that accepts students within the quota.

(3) The documents to be requested and the principles to be applied in the final registrations are determined by the relevant boards of the University in line with the provisions of the relevant legislation and announced on the website. Other principles regarding student registration procedures are regulated in Article 6 of Ibn Haldun University Undergraduate Education and Examination Regulations.

Specific Admission Requirements

Admission of international students is carried out in accordance with the provisions of the relevant legislation. International student quotas, application and registration dates and fees are determined by the decision of the Senate and the approval of the Board of Trustees.

Principles and procedures regarding the admission of students through horizontal and vertical transfer from within or outside the university, and DMP and YAP; It is determined by the Senate within the framework of the Higher Education Law No. 2547, the Regulation on the Principles of Transition Between Associate and Undergraduate Degree Programs in Higher Education Institutions, Double Major, Minor and Inter-Institutional Credit Transfer published in the Official Gazette dated 24/4/2010 and numbered 27561 and other relevant legislation.

International and national student exchanges can be implemented in accordance with the agreements made between Ibn Haldun University and other universities in Turkey or abroad, in line with inter-university student exchange programs, bilateral agreements, and the principles determined by the Council of Higher Education. Article 9 of the Ibn Haldun University Undergraduate Education and Examination Regulations will be applied in matters related to student exchange.

Graduates of the Department of Psychological Counseling and Guidance;

• They can take part in every field where preventive studies on mental health are carried out, in government institutions and in the private sector.

• They can work in all educational institutions with the staff of School Psychological Counselors. Supporting students in their development processes, reducing risk factors, and providing guiding intervention in moments of crisis are their primary duties.

• They can work as psychological counselors and administrators in institutions such as kindergartens, kindergartens, kindergartens, study centers.

• They can take part as experts in family and juvenile courts, juvenile branch units of the general directorates of security, prisons, observation and follow-up of children under state protection, and have the authority to report

• They work in the Guidance and Research Centers (RAM) within the District National Education Directorates, develop guidance programs, and apply psychological tests.

• They can work in academic staff within their universities. They can continue their education with master's and doctorate options and get expertise.

• They can take part in psychological counseling units that work on the mental health of students and staff of universities.

• They can work in private psychological counseling centers with the title of psychological counselor.

• They can work in special education and rehabilitation centers.

• They can work in human resources units of public and private institutions, career counseling centers, vocational training and public education centers.
