The person with this qualification;

• Students gain basic concepts and literature knowledge about psychological counseling and guidance field and use these information and information technologies in their professional life.
• Gain the basic philosophy of psychological counseling theories, basic concepts, human motivation, psychological counseling process, principles and techniques, individual psychological counseling skills, appropriate counseling session plans and practices.
• She knows the ethical principles and standards of the counseling and guidance profession, and applies it in personal and professional life.
• Professionally trained professionals know the social characteristics of the country and take national culture and values into account.
• It has an adequate infrastructure for lifelong development (Lifelong development, developmental theories, periods, individual differences in development, etc.) and follows current developments in PDR field with lifelong learning understanding and attitude.
• Theoretical knowledge about personal-social, educational and vocational guidance is applied in school psychological counseling and guidance services.
• Have the knowledge and skill to use Turkish correctly and effectively and understand the importance of Atatürks principles and revolutions in the historical process of the Turkish nation.
• Advise psychological counseling techniques and skills on different psychological counseling environments (education, health, industry etc.) and clients with different characteristics (counseling case management, counseling case process and reporting).
• Gain information about theory, process, principles and techniques related to psychological counseling with the group, gain the ability to make psychological counseling with the group, plan appropriate counseling session and apply.
• It teaches the basic concepts, principles and techniques related to vocational guidance and counseling, measurement tools, theories, and applies them to the clients who have different professional counseling environments, schools and other processes that have different characteristics.
• Gain sufficient knowledge and skills in human relationships and communication, use them in their professional and everyday lives, and reflect on the individuals development, education and relationships among people in different settings.
• Know the test and non-test techniques used in the field of psychological counseling, use these techniques in the definition of the individual.
• To acquire the skill of choosing, developing, applying and evaluating appropriate psychological measuring instruments in individual definition.
• Know the research principles and techniques related to the field of social sciences and apply them in the related research process.
• It has information about individual-society relations and theories of social psychology and analyzes the interactions between individuals and society in the light of this information.
• They have knowledge of adaptation problems and behavior disorders in their lifetime and use this information to conceptualize client problems.
• Crisis and crime intervention knows theories, principles and techniques, practicing in professional and personal life.
• Know family and marriage counseling theories, choose appropriate intervention methods and apply.
• School psychological counseling and guidance program acquires planning, preparation / development, implementation and evaluation skills.
• It plans and implements psychological counseling and guidance services for special needs individuals.

A variety of assessment methods such as mid-term(s), assignment(s), exercise(s), project(s), practice(s), and a final exam are implemented in the programme. Assessment methods may include classical test(s), multiple-choice test(s), homework(s), performance evaluation(s), and product evaluation(s). In order to graduate from the programme, cumulative GPA must be minimum 2.00. A student is required to successfully complete the designated program of courses meet a minimum of 240 ECTS credit requirement and have a minimum GPA of 2.00/4.00 and no FF, DZ or YZ grades.

To be graduated from high school

Graduates of the Programme in Guidance and Counseling can work at private and public schools, counseling and guidance services of the ministry of education, counseling and guidance centres of universities, hospitals and counseling centres of military institutions.

Qualification is continuous.
