• In the field of city and regional planning, to have necessary information and cognition in order to reflect earned multidimensional information including planning and design activities and research for local, regional, national and global context, discursive, theoretical, factual information and professional service sensibility; to acdemic sharing environments.
• To learn three-dimensional thinking skills in searching design and discovering the design.
• In the field of city and regional planning, to have knowledge and cognition in the scopess of human and community oriented, sensitive to environment (natural and built) urbanism/ planning/ design methods.
• To earn protection awareness with the ability of recognize and comprehend the historical environment; to documnent amd make analysis of cultural assets and to have necessary basic information about protection and sustainability of them.In the field of city and regional planning, to gain the ability to multi-dimensional thinking. economic, environmental and social sustainability principles and standards with the issues related to disasters.In the field of city and regional planning to have knowledege related to the importance of city and regional planning programme in the historical, geographical,social and cultural context.
• To gain information about the principles, laws, reguylations and standards related to city and regional planning.
• To gain awareness about laws, regulations and standards related to planning, design, construction, health, safety and use of the built environment.
• To use theoretical / conceptual knowledge related to the field of city and regional Planning, cognitive and fictional skills, research methods and techniques; and to have the ability to develop alternative planning fictions and solutions.
• To conduct independently individual studies related to city and regioınal palnning department and to take individual and collective responsibility in multi-disciplinary, inter-disciplinary and interdisciplinary studies.
• To have the necessary self-confidence and competence.
• To inform the relevant people and institutions about matters concersing city and regional planning.
• To transfer the ideas and proposal solutions to problems in written, oral and visual means.
• To be able to share the information by supporting with quantitative and qualitative data to the professiopnals and non-professionlas.
• To organize projects, cooperations and activities fort he social environment living with the awareness of social responsibility and to apply them.

A student is required to have a minumum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.00/4.00 and no failing grades. A student must be successful at courses having 240 ECTS for graduating from department of urban and regional planning. 180 ECTS have to be taken from compulsory courses pool and 60 ECTS have to be selected from elective courses pool and students must complete 30 days sitework practical trainings in the fourth semester and 30 days Office practical trainings in the sixth semester.
