The Civil Air Transport Management program is designed for students who work in the departments (passenger services officer, operations officer, etc.) on the air and land side of the airports, airline companies and air cargo businesses in all departments (quality, human resources, ground operations, etc.) in compliance with the rules of law, occupational health and safety and environmental protection awareness and ethical values, develop projects and take initiatives by using computer competencies and adopting the philosophy of lifelong learning as a principle, It aims to train individuals who use the knowledge they have acquired at the associate degree level in the continuation of their education life.

Education and training processes in the program are carried out in the form of formal education and distance education. In addition, students receive practical training by doing internships in areas such as airports, airlines or ticket sales offices.

Program learning outcomes are listed below.

• Have basic, up-to-date and practical knowledge about civil aviation.
• Have knowledge about occupational health and safety, environmental awareness and quality processes.
• Follows current developments and applications in the field of civil aviation and uses them effectively.
• Has knowledge about digitalization and basic information technologies related to the field and uses this knowledge effectively.
•  Has the ability to make analytical and critical evaluations and propose solutions by using the knowledge and skills in the field.
• To be able to present his/her thoughts at the level of knowledge and skills effectively in written and verbally, and to be able to express them clearly.
• As a leader, self-confident and productive individual in the projects carried out in the field of civil aviation, can take responsibility for the execution of complex and unpredictable activities.
• Has an awareness of career management, entrepreneurship and lifelong learning.
• Has social, scientific, cultural and ethical values in the stages of collecting, applying and announcing the results of data related to the field of civil aviation.
•  Has a command of at least one foreign language that can be used in professional life.

In addition, the outputs for the field are listed below.

• Explains the general concepts related to civil aviation and business and has basic knowledge and skills.
• Explains national and international aviation rules.
• Defines the meteorological conditions in the atmosphere, lists the meteorological events dangerous for flight, interprets the meteorological reports and documents used in aviation.
• Explain the national and international legislation and regulations for safety and security problems that may occur at airports and have awareness of aviation safety.

•  To be able to master the basic knowledge and skills in the civil aviation sector and to have the competence to apply national and international aviation rules.
•  Have the competence to act in accordance with occupational health and safety, environmental awareness and ethical values in aviation businesses.
•  Have the ability to use digitalization and information technologies effectively in airport and airline operations.
•  Have the ability to develop effective solutions by taking responsibility in civil aviation projects with analytical thinking and problem solving skills.
•  Have the ability to communicate effectively by using at least one foreign language in the professional field.
•  Must have the competence to continue professional development with the awareness of lifelong learning and to develop innovative projects for the sector.
•  Must have the competence to provide solutions in accordance with national and international legislation against safety and security problems that may occur at airports.
•  Should have the competence to interpret meteorological reports used in aviation and to analyze meteorological events that may be dangerous for flight.

Success evaluation in exams is made out of 100 points. The midterm and final exam results of a course are shown with numerical points. The score of the exams that the student does not take is zero. The contribution of mid-term evaluations to the success grade is 40% and the contribution of the final exam is 60%. In order to calculate a student's success grade, he/she must get at least fifty points from the final exam.

While calculating the semester evaluations, the contribution of the points obtained from each midterm exam, homework and similar activities at the rate determined before the start of the courses is determined without increasing the half numbers to integer; their sum or arithmetic average is found. The fractional number to be found in this way is raised to a whole number. In this way, the semester score is calculated.

The raw achievement score is calculated by adding 60% of the final exam score to 40% of the average score of the semester evaluations. Fractions are preserved in the calculation of these ratios, but in the calculation of the raw success score, half numbers are completed to whole numbers. In order to be considered successful in a course, the success grade must be at least “CC” letter grade.

The student's success grade in a course is converted into a letter grade and success coefficient with the absolute evaluation system as follows:

Apart from the letter grades used as achievement grades, other special letter grades used at the University are as follows:

ST grade is given to students who come to the University through horizontal or vertical transfer from other higher education institutions or who re-register to the University with the exam conducted by ÖSYM for the courses they have taken before and whose equivalence is recognized by the relevant board of directors. ST grade is not included in the grade point average. ST grade is also given to the courses taken from other universities in the summer school and is not included in the grade point average. Courses taken from other universities in summer schools and failed are recorded as FF grade in the student automation system.

GT grade is given to students who are successful in courses that are not included in the grade point average.

UT grade is given to students who fail the courses that are not included in the grade point average.

ET grade is given to students who are exempted from the courses determined by the Senate without credit at the end of the exemption exam administered by the relevant units. ET grade is not included in the grade point average.

NT grade is given to students who fail because they do not fulfill the course attendance requirement or the requirements for the course application. NT grade is treated as FF grade in grade point average calculation.

BT grade is given to students who are successful in non-credit courses and internships. BT grade is not included in the grade point average.

KT grade is given to students who fail non-credit courses and internships. KT grade is not included in the grade point average.

The conversion of grades to the 100 system is determined according to the YÖK grade conversion table. The grades of the courses granted exemption by the relevant unit from the courses taken by the students in their previous education are shown in the transcript and taken into account in the general weighted grade point average.

To oversee the quality of higher education programs;

YÖK is responsible for the planning, organization, management and supervision of education and training and other activities carried out in higher education institutions.

“University Monitoring and Evaluation Reports” of higher education institutions are published every year within the framework of the criteria determined by YÖK. The reports prepared according to these reports, including quantitative and qualitative evaluations of higher education institutions, are shared with the public by YÖK.

Every year, YÖK publishes the “Foundation Higher Education Institutions Report”, which includes academic, administrative and financial data on foundation higher education institutions. These reports, which include quantitative and qualitative evaluations of foundation higher education institutions, are shared with the public by YÖK. Quality assurance of undergraduate programs in higher education is ensured according to the “Procedures and Principles for Ensuring Quality Assurance of Higher Education Diploma Programs”:

1. Creation and Approval of Curricula:

1.1. YÖK determines the minimum standards and criteria required for the opening of undergraduate departments and programs in higher education institutions.

1.2. The curriculum of undergraduate programs in higher education institutions and the learning outcomes that each program will provide to students are determined by the senates of higher education institutions in accordance with the basic principles determined by YÖK on these issues.

1.3. After the curriculum of the National Core Curriculum is accepted by the relevant Council of Deans, it is implemented by higher education institutions with the approval of YÖK.

2. Assessment and Evaluation: The measurement and evaluation of the learning outcomes of each undergraduate program is carried out according to the education and training and examination regulations prepared by higher education institutions in accordance with the basic principles determined by YÖK on these issues.

3. Certification: Students enrolled in undergraduate programs, if they successfully complete the course credits and other obligations determined by higher education institutions; receives a bachelor's diploma.

4. Self-Assessment-External Evaluation: In the context of continuous monitoring, higher education institutions enter their “Institutional Internal Evaluation Reports” for the previous year into the Information System prepared by the Higher Education Quality Council (YÖKAK) at the beginning of each year. YÖKAK shares the “Institutional Feedback Report” prepared for the external evaluation of higher education institutions with the public. In addition, accreditation decisions issued by accreditation bodies authorized or recognized by YÖKAK also indicate that the quality assurance of the qualifications of the programs is ensured. YÖKAK conducts regular review activities regarding the qualifications determined in accordance with the legislation.

Within the scope of the “Performance-Based Process Management Model” being implemented at Kayseri University, top, main and sub-processes are defined in such a way that their inputs, outputs, resources, relations and responsible parties are specific. Under the top process of Education and Training Management, there are main and detailed sub-processes for the planning, implementation and monitoring of education and training activities as well as the management of the education staff. Stakeholder participation in decision-making processes and alumni relations are carried out through the top and detailed processes for managing stakeholder relations and alumni relations. Our unit's performance indicators and activities are planned, implemented and monitored in an evidence-based manner to support these processes. The Integrated Quality Management System (IQMS) is used to support all these activities.

Improvement activities are carried out through the Improvement Module integrated into the BKYS and our unit closes PDCA cycles in education, training, R&D and social contribution activities in this way. In addition, in order to ensure the participation of internal and external stakeholders' feedback in decision-making processes, the “Satisfaction Management System” is systematically implemented through the software within our University. As a result, sustainability of activities is ensured through systematic mechanisms through processes defined by framework regulations, Kayseri University and Vocational School of Social Sciences Regulations and Directives, and supporting software.

The conditions for admission to the program are high school and equivalent school diploma and sufficient score from the Higher Education Transition Examination. In addition, the registration process is carried out within the scope of the information in Article 10 of the higher education programs and quotas guide.

Article 10: CIVIL AIR TRANSPORTATION MANAGEMENT (associate degree) qualifications sought to be able to perform the profession:

1) Not having any Criminal Record or Criminal Record Archive Record that would prevent him/her from obtaining an airport entrance card.

2) Obtaining a committee report (hearing loss / deficiency, vision loss / deficiency, etc.) from a full-fledged hospital within the last 6 months that there is no health problem that will prevent him / her from performing the profession and / or the duty assigned in the profession.

Graduates of the Civil Air Transportation Management program can complete their undergraduate education by transferring to Aviation Management, Business Administration, Business Administration, Logistics, Logistics Management, Travel Management, Travel Management and Tourism Guidance, Technology and Information Management, Transportation and Logistics, Transportation and Logistics Management, International Logistics, Tourism Management with the Vertical Transfer Examination (DGS).

In addition, graduates of the program can work as passenger services officer, operations officer, ramp officer in ground service companies by taking the title of Civil Air Transportation Operator. They can also be employed in all departments of airline companies and air cargo companies.
