To train individuals with advanced application skills in the fields of firefighting, fire safety, disaster management and rescue. The programme aims to provide vocational qualification at VQA Level 6 and to provide an academic basis for postgraduate education.

In-class theoretical education, fire laboratory applications, simulation centres, field exercises, CAD software, vocational internships.

A. INFORMATION

1. Have advanced theoretical knowledge about fire dynamics, fire chemistry and fire reactions of building materials.
2. Knows national and international fire safety regulations, standards (NFPA, EN, ISO) and professional legislation.
3. Has knowledge about emergency management, incident command, disaster types and risk assessment systems.
4. Has up-to-date technological knowledge about search and rescue, fire fighting techniques and fire brigade equipment.
5. Acquires basic knowledge on professional ethics, occupational health and safety, environmental sustainability and disaster psychology.

B. SKILLS

6. Select the appropriate intervention method according to different types of fire and apply it technically.
7. Analyses fire risks of buildings; develops solutions on fire load, escape arrangement, detection and suppression systems.
8. Can make pre-fire risk assessment and post-incident reporting; acts in accordance with the principles of evidence protection.
9. Provide maintenance, repair and safe use of fire brigade equipment.
10. Can organise professional correspondence, reports, exercise and case records in technical language.

• Regarding exams and grades, the relevant articles of Istanbul University- Cerrahpaşa Associate and Undergraduate Education and Training Regulations are applied.
• Different methods such as homework, project, application, midterm and final exam are used in measurement and evaluation.

Program outcomes are regularly reviewed according to the Bologna Process and YÖKAK criteria. Consultation processes are carried out with internal and external stakeholders. Student and graduate surveys are integrated into the quality cycle.

Applications can be made for master's and certificate programs in departments such as.

Especially institutions such as TÜBİTAK, AFAD, UMKE, Red Crescent Academy prefer candidates with master's degree + application experience.

This associate degree program is carried out in accordance with the Higher Education Law No. 2547 and the principles determined by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK). The program is in full compliance with the European Qualifications Framework (EQF-LLL) level 5 and the Turkish Higher Education Qualifications Framework (TYYÇ) and the Bologna Process.

The program outcomes and structure are fully aligned with the Firefighter Level 6 National Qualification (11UY0016-6) defined by the Vocational Qualifications Authority (VQA). Students are provided with knowledge, skills and performance-based gains for this qualification throughout the education process.

All courses are structured in accordance with ECTS (European Credit Transfer System). The program consists of a total of 120 ECTS training activities.

The qualification is valid at all times.
