- Siyaset bilimi ve kamu yönetimi disiplinlerine ait kavramsal ve teorik bilgi ve anlayışın, metodolojik kapasitenin bu disiplinlerde yeni bilgiler ortaya koyabilecek nitelikte geliştirilmesi.
- Siyaset bilimi ve kamu yönetimi disiplinlerine paralel, sosyoloji, antropoloji, tarih vb. disiplinlerde kapsamlı bir bilgi ve anlayışa hakim olunarak disiplinlerarası bir perspektif geliştirilmesi.
- Niteliksel ve niceliksel araştırma metodoloji ve metotlarına dair bilgi sahibi olunması ve bu bilginin tez yazımında ve diğer araştırmalarda kullanılmasını sağlayacak bir kapasite geliştirilmesi.
- Edinilen teorik ve metodolojik, disiplinlerarası bilginin alandaki tartışmaları takip edebilmek, yorumlayabilmek ve literatürdeki mevcut problem ve eksiklikleri tespit ederek gidermek için eleştirel bir anlayışın geliştirilmesi.
- Literatüre katkıda bulunacak nitelikte bir tez yazılması ve yayın yapılabilmesi için gereken akademik yazım prensip ve becerilerinin geliştirilmesi.

Program in Political Science and Public Administration aims at graduating its candidates as competent enough to produce new knowledge within the field, by following the principles given below: 1.) Improving knowledge and understanding of the disciplines political science and public administration so as to enable the Ph. D. candidates to produce new knowledge on these disciplines. 2.) Improving knowledge and understanding in the parallel disciplines of sociology, anthropology, history etc. to create a multi-disciplinary perspective of the field of study. 3.) A Bachelor's Degree and/or a Master's Degree from one of the departmens of a faculty of economics, administrative and social sciences. 2.) A cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale for those applicants with a Bachelor's Degree. 3.) The applicant has to have an ALES (verbal) grade of 60 or above. 4.) The applicant has to have a YÖKDİL grade of 60 or above. 5.) The applicant has to be found successful in the interview to be made according to Atılım University Social Sciences Institute Regulation on Education and Examination. | Conditions for Success | The Doctoral Degree in Political Science and Public Administration is awarded to students who have successfully completed all courses in the curriculum and have obtained a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. (A minimum of 240 ECTS credits have to be earned for graduation. The Ph. D. candidates with a Bahcelor's Degree has to earn 300 ECTS credits.) Also, the student has to submit a thesis to be examined by a thesis monitoring committee and to be found successful. | |
