- Sosyoloji doktora programı, sosyoloji ya da diğer disiplinlerde lisans/yüksek lisans eğitimini tamamlamış olan bireyleri; teorik ve ampirik araştırmalara dayalı olarak elde edilen bilgileri kullanarak yerel, ulusal ve küresel sorunların çözümüne yönelik politikalar oluşturulmasına yönelik beceri ve yetkinliklerle donatmak amacını taşımaktadır.
- Sosyoloji Doktora programının amacı; öğrenciye bağımsız araştırma yapma, bilimsel olayları geniş, derin ve akılcı bir bakış açısı ile irdeleyerek yorum yapma ve yeni sentezlere ulaşmak için gerekli adımları belirleme yeteneği kazandırmaktır.
- Doktora çalışması sonunda hazırlanacak tezin; bilime yenilik getirme, yeni bir bilimsel yöntem geliştirme, bilinen bir yöntemi yeni bir alana uygulama niteliklerinden birini yerine getirmesi gerekir.

During the acceptance stage, an interview of the candidates can be made with the recommendation of the relevant department head and the approval of the Executive Board of the Institute of Science. | Conditions for Success | Graduation Requirements and Time for Ph.D The length of the Ph.D. programme is eight semesters for students with a master's degree with thesis, regardless of whether they are enrolled for each semester. The period starts from the semester when the courses related to the program are registered with the exception of the period of scientific preparation, and the maximum period is twelve semesters. The length of the Ph.D. program is ten semesters for students with a Bachelor of Science degree and the maximum completion period is fourteen semesters in their case. If students, who have applied to the Ph.D. program with a bachelor of science degree, failed to fulfil the credit requirements, or successfully complete the seminar course and/or failed to complete the thesis study within the maximum duration, then they will be awarded a master of science degree without thesis, on the condition that they have completed the necessary credit load, the graduation project and other requirements. - Sociology Ph.D. Programme aims at having students from sociology and other social sciences bachelor and master programmes and to provide them with advanced theoretical and empirical research skills and competences in sociology by focusing on the analyses of local, glocal and global social problems.
- Armed with this kind of framework, the graduates of the programme will be ready to develop policy proposals and ways of implementing them.
- The aim of the programme is to make the students gain the skills in planning and conducting independent research, commenting by analyzing in a broad, deep and rational view and determining the necessary steps to reach new syntheses.
- Graduates, in addition, will gain the skills to present their research findings in national and international platforms, both in writing and orally.
