- Osmanlı’daki anayasal gelişmeleri, tarihsel koşulları dikkate alarak irdelemek.
- Osmanlılara ait arşiv belgelerini, tarih eserleri yazımında kullanmayı öğretme
- Dünyada meydana gelen siyasal ve sosyal olayların Osmanlı tarihi üzerindeki etkisini ele alma.
- Osmanlı devletinin Batı ile olan ilişkilerinde ekonomik gelişmelerin etkisini irdeleme
- On sekizinci ve on dokuzuncu yüzyıllardaki Osmanlı kurumlarının yapısını anlama

- Examining the impact of economic developments in their relations with the Ottoman Empire and west.
- Understanding the Structure of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries’ the Ottoman institutions.
