• Revising his/her conceptual knowledge and gaining the information on plant protection for further studies. 
• Being able to apply the knowledge concerning biosafety on agricultural production and public/environmental health.
• Gaining the ability of methods used in pest control in agricultural production, chemical substances, biological factors and their alternatives in sustainable agriculture concept.
• Being able to gain the ability of reading and interpreting national/international periodicals in the field of plant protection.
• Revising his/her conceptual knowledge and gaining the ability of improving the acquired knowledge on plant pathology for further studies.
• Being able to use the theoretical and applied knowledge at the level of expertise, interpret it integrating with the information coming from different disciplines, and convey it to groups in and out of the field systematically.
• Being able to conduct a research or a project requiring specialization independently, finding solutions, taking responsibility, developing new approaches for the problems confronted during applications.
• Being able to present the results of research and project by transforming it into a report/thesis and producing scientific publication out of them.
• Possessing the abilities of planning a research on his/her own topic using quality and quantity data collection methods, maintaining scientific ethic framework and evaluating by choosing proper statistical methods.

Passing grade for each course is determined according to the results of mid-semester exam including practical work and assays (40%) and final exam (60%). Average score of each course must be 75 out of 100.

Original documents or their copies approved by the Institute necessary for registration are accepted. Registration process is based upon the applicant’s declarations on the status of the compulsory military service and the judicial records. The documents presented for the application shall not be asked again from the applicants who are entitled for the registration. Applicants must fulfill the conditions and succeed the prerequisite exam(s) necessary set by university and the HEC, in order to register to a certain program. Students who are already enrolled to programs in other universities in Turkey or programs abroad can apply to be transferred to the corresponding program as long as fulfilling the conditions set by the program, Institute and the University. Evaluation procedure is carried out at the beginning of the semester according to the circumstance of the student and the program applied for. Conditions of acceptance and registration are pronounced in the web page before the beginning of each fall and spring semester of the year.

This degree enables graduates to work professionally at the departments linked to Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Livestock, (Provincial and District Directories, Plant Protection Units, Quarantine Directories for exported and imported crops, Research Institutes), Agriculture Faculties, Private Pesticide, Seed Companies, Advisory Companies, Private Farms and Greenhouse Production Companies, Insect Production and Biological Pest Control Companies and pest
