- Veteriner Cerrahi alanında lisansüstü seviyesindeki konularını anlama ve yorumlama becerisini kazandırmak -Veteriner Cerrahi alanını ilgilendiren hastalıkların klinik, görüntüleme ve laboratuar bulgularına göre tanısını koyma ve sağaltma yetisini kazandırmak.
- Cerrahi Anabilim Dalının hedefi; cerrahi müdahalede derin bilgi sahibi yüksek kalitede veteriner hekim yetiştirmek, veteriner hekimlikte yüksek kalitede temel ve uygulamalı araştırma yapmaktır.
- Akademik hayatın gereği olan özgün araştırma yapma, innovasyon ve girişimcilik yeteneklerine sahip olup veteriner cerrahi alanında her türlü bilimsel ve ticari organizasyonu planlama, yürütme, sürdürebilme ve sonuçlandırabilme yetisine sahip olmak.
