Çağdaş eğitim ve öğretim programlarını uygulayarak kuramsal bilgiyi uygulamalarla pekiştirmiş, çok yönlü düşünebilen, iletişime açık, kaliteli mezunlar yetiştirmek; bölgemizin ve ülkemizin ekonomisine katkıda bulunabilecek yeraltı ve yerüstü kaynaklarını ortaya çıkarmak; bilimsel araştırmalar yoluyla bölgemizin, ülkemizin ve yerküremizin jeolojik özelliklerini belirlemek, sorunlara çözüm üretmektir.
- Jeoloji Mühendisliği konularında araştırma yapabilme, bağımsız düşünme ve çalışma becerisini kazanmak.
- Lisans ve yüksek lisans düzeyinde edinilen teorik bilgileri derinleştirerek uygulamaya koyabilmek.
- Jeoloji Mühendisliği Mesleğinin etik değerlerine ve gerekli bilimsel formasyona sahip bireyler olarak takım çalışması içerisinde yer alabilmek ve gerektiğinde sorumluluk üstlenebilmek.
- Jeoloji Mühendisliği ile ilgili karşılaştığı sorunlara bilimsel düzeyde yaklaşma, çözüm önerilerini yöntemleriyle birlikte sunabilme ve yöntemleri uygulayarak sonuçlarını değerlendirebilme becerisi kazanmak.
