Have theoretical and practical knowledge about the subdisciplines of music with up-to-date information. They have intellectual, social, historical, cultural and theoretical knowledge about Western music, traditional Turkish music, ethnic music, world music and popular music. They have knowledge in interdisciplinary interaction, research methods, music criticism, art and science ethics in the field of music.Gain the ability to use research methods and techniques related to the field of music.Gain the ability to perceive, analyze and interpret music in a multidimensional manner with theoretical and practical knowledge gained in the field of music.At the activities held in the field of music, they gain competence to work both individually and in groups.They are open to life-long learning and research.Topics related to the field; They will be able to offer collecting in an effective and correct way by using visual, written and oral communication methods.They follow the national and international literature using at least one foreign language besides their native language.They use the information and communication technologies at the level required by the music field.They observe scientific ethics at all stages of scientific research processes.

Students who want to register as a division must have completed the examination of the YGS barrage, which is the first stage examination conducted by Student Selection and Placement Center under the academic and legal regulations of the university. A student who has started to study in the equivalent program at home or abroad may apply for a transfer. Acceptance of the students is examined at the beginning of the semester, taking into consideration the conditions of each student and the degree to which he / she has applied, and is considered special. Students from abroad who are approved by the university and whose borders are determined by an agreement can take courses given in English in the department. If the student is proficient in Turkish language, he / she can enroll in any course given in the Course Plan.

Faculty of Fine Arts Faculty of Music has the opportunity to work with different cadre titles in education, arts and culture related units of ministries, universities in TRT, public institutions and private institutions in education, arts and culture, music, human relations, planning and evaluation related units . Those who have the ability to produce thought and creativity and to express them as opportunities to show them openly can find jobs at training centers, consulting centers and jobs.They can also work as researchers, critics, art consultants or music directors, as performers in choirs, and as academic staff in educational institutions related to fine arts. They can graduate from the graduate program without thesis and they can teach in MONE affiliated schools - they also have opportunities to do academic work.
