Sanatın evrensel bir dil olduğu gerçeğini ilke edinen Abant İzzet Baysal Üniversitesi, Güzel Sanatlar Fakültesi, Resim Bölümü, yaratıcılık kalitesi yüksek, özgün sanatlar ürünler sunabilen, dünya ve ulusal kültürünün bilincinde, çağdaş düşünce yapısına sahip sanatçı adayları yetiştirmeyi amaçlamaktadır.
- Sanatın temel ilkeleri üzerine bilgi sahibi olmak ve bunları sanat çalışmalarında uygulayabilme becerisine sahip olmak.
- Tasarımı uygulamak veya araştırılan konuyu sunmak için gerekli bütün teorik bilgi, çizim dizgeleri ve bilgisayar programları bilmek, kullanabilmek.
- Gözlem, taslak oluşturma, araştırma, deneyimleme, analiz, değerlendirme ve yorumlama becerisine sahip olmak.
- Farklı malzeme teknik kullanımı ve uygulama yöntemleri konusunda bilgi ve deneyim sahibi olmak.
- Tarihsel dönemlerdeki sanatçıları, sanat yapıtlarını, sanat yaklaşımlarını ve aralarındaki ilişkiyi kurabilecek olgunluğa erişmiş olmak.
- Konusu ile ilgili çalışmaların evrensel ve toplumsal boyutlarda etkilerini değerlendirebilmek için kapsamlı bilgiye eleştirel bakışa ve yaratıcı düşünme becerisine sahip olmak.
- Entelektüel birikim ile global dünya içerisinde kendi kültürel referansı ile kendi sanatsal sorunlarının artistik sunumu ve yorumunu yapabilmek.
